I swear I didn't set this up. This is the way my daughter fell asleep the other day. Bunny was standing on both of her eyes. Lol

So much do do before the enh run this weekend.

    1. Install tcase/ trans skids I've had sitting in the garage for a while( likely during lunch tomorrow in the work parking lot)
    2. Remove roof box
    3. Strap treds to roof ( how many expo points do I lose for using ratchet straps instead of fancy pants overpriced mount?)
4.Throw trasharoo back on spare tire ( to recoup some expo points)
    5. Put backup lil wil antenna on roof/ route cable cause I've got a short somewhere in the one attached to my firestik
    6. Make sure I have enough snacks/ activities for the Giblets

Honestly if that were my truck I'd have them pay for the damages in addition to a proper cleaning of the truck. That water can cause a lot of damage including mold and mildew - at least have them pay for a new interior carpet.

I hear ya... my L-Track comes in today - I'll mount it to the bed slide real quick so that I at least have a way to tie down the gear in the back of the truck. I bought a rubber mat from Tractor Supply last night but it's going to take a jigsaw or something to properly cut it.
I just started to hear a low pitch groan coming from the truck when I hit 30+ mph on the highway - almost like an exhaust leak and it gets higher pitch as I drive. I already did the ECGS and tossed it into 4wd to see if it went away and its still there. I tried swerving hard left/right to check for wheel bearings... I'm thinking maybe a driveshaft carrier bearing?
3" lift all around with no front sway and new front wheel bearings and a new passengerside rear axle bearing.

I opted not to get that trim package. Mine's been mold and mildew free so far.

Damages to the module and switch were covered by Ford under warranty. I called the dealer and made them aware of this new development and they said they'd note it for any future issues but that the repair order had already been closed and covered by Ford and reversing it would be a paperwork nightmare, so I'm going to leave that one be. No damage to the carpet because I opted for the vinyl floor option, lol. And all I had in the glove box was a spare leatherman, some zip ties, and a pair of work gloves.
I did tell the lady at the glass company about the massive two week headache they've caused for me with Ford, my loaner fiasco, etc. and about how lucky they were that Ford didn't want to come back on them for the warranty work since it would probably have been in the neighborhood of $2k (the service rep at Ford told me that just the replacement module is $700)

That's 3rd Gen Tacoma's that you're thinking of, with the leaky rear window that comes standard from the factory, instead of having to wait for some moron window tech to screw up a replacement for you.

Could be carrier bearing. Iirc if it's bad you should be able to see significant movement if you grab the ds and move it side to side

Haha, that thing flops around regardless because the rubber around it is soft so that's not a great way to check if the bearing itself is bad. In my opinion, noise is the best way or, after a decent trip, see if it's getting hot which would imply that it's going out.
Should say on top of the cap whether it's DOT 3 or DOT 4.

Could use dot 4 too, but iirc it's far more hydrophilic than dot 3 so it needs to be changed yearly. Trade off is much higher boiling point more suitable for a track car than a taco.

Sounds like solid advice. I'll crawl under after my commute home and see how it goes. Do you think off roading with it Saturday is a bad idea....?

Slow speed shouldn't be an issue. Think of it like a bad wheel bearing. The trip back and forth would be worse than the off roading. Mine was squeeling pretty good before I finally replaced it and I had to drive it that way until the parts came in for about a week.

@Sloth @Pugga I'll take a look at it tonight after driving home and see how hot it is - if it's got too much play and is hot I'll order one from the dealer. I read some posts about aftermarket ones and saw iffy results. Someone made a poly mounted bearing which is good but was limited production apparently...

I was one of those iffy reviews about aftermarket bearings. The aftermarket one I had got rid of the take off shudder and some slower speed vibrations but the longevity was terrible. Don't buy the Dorman carrier bearing, it is a complete piece of shit! I went through 2 in under 5,000 miles and finally just went back with OEM and dealt with the vibrations.

While you're in there, you might want to consider replacing u-joints. You're going to have the drive line apart so you might as well... Again, go OEM (Spicer), the Moog ones are shit and don't fit right. Also, grease up the slip joint while you have it apart.

Just for kicks, check out the Wookie Strength Carrier Bearing. Someone stuck a solid mount F2 or 350 carrier bearing in there. It's pretty beefy and servicable which is nice.
