You could still use the bed bars with a little modification. You could get a flat piece of metal that extends downward just a little farther and countersink some screws into the new flat piece then tap the existing bed bar mount and cut off the screws if they protrude on the back side of the bed bar mount. Then drill a new hole slightly lower that will line up with the existing insert to hold the bed bars in place. Since the bed bar is sitting on the side of the bed it should be plenty strong enough to hold the bed bars in place.

Got the high pressure fuel pump replaced today. Wasn't causing any issues, was just making a noise I didn't like so the dealer replaced it under warranty, no questions asked. Good service right there.

yeah that's kind of great service. totally unlike what you hear around these parts.

did they reproduce the sound first and agree it's not right?

They did confirm that it was present, got Toyota to approve the replacement, ordered the part and put it on.

what was the sound, and any details about it? if you don't mind.

i don't have any performance issues of any kind but this motor is a bit odd, and one of the noises that comes and goes has my attention.

It was just a chirping noise at idle. Nothing crazy loud and went away when throttle was applied. But, a chirp that shouldn't have been there nonetheless.

For service, I only go to Right Toyota in Scottsdale. Their service department is top notch and I have been using the same service advisor since I had my 05 Tacoma. So the dude knows me well and NEVER tries to pull any bullshit.

Hmm.. I bought my 13 Sport from Right Toyota, and I had nothing but fucking issues with those guys beating around the bush, calling me non stop asking me about my experience.. etc etc.

I get the same run around and have to pull teeth with my current dealer (Earnhardt) in East Mesa.

It's not that anything is wrong with our trucks, but when I pay for a warranty and the money I did for these trucks, why do they have to be douchebags when it comes to fixing issues? They act like it comes out of their fucking pocket.

Maybe I need to shops around and find a reputable service advisor that will actually take some pride in customers and their needs.

That sucks man. Yeah, I hate the sales dept at Right, bought my 12 from them and gave them a crack when I got my 16, but they shit the bed on that deal, so all purchases happen at Riverview. But for service, it's never been an issue, they don't blame shit on my mods and take my complaints seriously. Brought the truck in yesterday for the chirp, by noon they had the part on order and by noon today, it was fixed.
