Turd gen owner here & new to Tacos but I've got thick skin. Hope to get out with you guys sometime soon. Having a 3-month-old at home limits my outings these days though. That & a stock truck. Need to at least get some better tires!

MOST people take to good natured ribbing with laughter and return the favor. Seems a few of the newer guys just don't get it...It's not being hateful. It's like being part of a club or team...It's actually a sign of acceptance when people give you a ration of shit...

Welcome! You'll be amazed at how capable a stock Tacoma is....And we will always do what we can to keep anyone from getting in over their head. Many of the trails we run have alternate ways around the worst stuff. I'm organizing a trip to Black Mountain (Harlan Ky) in late October. There are designated "GREEN" trails there that are, as a friend refers to them as, "Subaru Friendly" . Pretty much any 4wd can go through them without a problem.

Also, look in the Tennessee forum for an upcoming run through "Dirt Devil". That can be done in a 2wd car, but it's an epic adventure!

I got mine through the Fox Group Buy here on Tacoma World, which closed out on Sunday. I went with the medium load spring (P/N EL095R), but they did offer an HD version (P/N EL096R). I think you would have to use the HD spring if you carry weight all of the time with the habitat.

It will be a few weeks before these are installed as I have a bit of work travel lined up. Once on, I plan to update my (currently worthless) build thread.

I'll be at Overland Expo East at the end of the month since I'll be in Asheville already for my anniversary. Maybe I'll pick up some cool gear & be #EAF.

Let me know details on the Black Mountain trip because I'm interested in tagging along pending my availability.

Check it... I was able to get SOS Concepts to make me a set of their skids in Aluminum. They should be shipping Monday. The original steel version is shown on the left... my aluminum version is on the right:

I will say @EddyRRT is very patient, as I tend to be pretty "involved" in ALL things that I do. Needless to say, he has been great. Excellent communication.
