Probably wrong subsection, but am looking for a good bed rack that can be shipped to my door for under $500. So far C4 fab bed rack shipped is $540 and the kbvoodoo is $595.. Am I missing any?

Thanks I guess the one problem with the SOS concepts one for my application is that at this point, I don't have much intention of running a RTT. I will be using it for mounting bikes and 2/3 antennas depending if I go HF. At the moment I have a CB setup on my front panel but don't like the antenna mounted to a ditch bracket, so I am thinking of using the bed rack to mount both the CB antenna and a UHF/VHF dual band. Sooo, with this rack, I feel it is less modular in that sense, and will require special welding. But I'll keep my eyes on it! I am very familiar with SOS concepts and know they are local, but for this case, I don't think their LP rack is for me!

I just picked up a TracRac 800lb capacity rack for $300 plus the adapters ($60) for the Tacoma. Did it via Amazon Prime and didn't even have to pay for shipping. Works great for my canoe. It's from the industrial/commercial side of Thule. There are lots of adapters for it, or simply just use a T-Bolt for any other custom additions such as antenna's. Although it would need to be grounded.

I just ordered a Yakima Bedrock system for the bed. You buy "feet", you buy cross bars - if you have compatible bars already then you're down to ~ $200. I found used 'feet' on C'list in CO recently for much less. Quickly on, quickly off, lockable, basically 4 locking clamps for the top edge of the bed w 2 cross bars. Now you add endless systems from Yakima for your toys - bikes, boats, surf gear... While it's listed as 160# weight limit (IIRC), I confirmed with Yakima & it can support 600# when you're parked, so good for a RTT as well as for sports toys & cargo boxes.

(and if you have credit card points linked to Amazon, you could potentially get this system free if you have enough points.)

Oh no dont get me wrong, I love your rack!!! Just don't know if I can justify such a heavy duty item for use with bikes and antennas. But maybe!

If you want more of a custom height and modular design, I know someone who did a bed rack out of unistrut that he bought from Home Depot. I considered doing something like that for a roof rack, but a bed rack could be done easily as well
