It fits, that's what I have. And cleaning it is easy. AFE says you can get almost all airflow back by just vacuuming the filter and if you want 100% then rinse in warm water and mild soap and let it dry for a few hours.

Edit: expand the overview tab on AFEs website and it says also fits the Tacomas

Having to buy a new air flow sensor made me quit using K&N's. Not worth it, even if you are meticulous at spraying the exact amount of oil on the filter after cleaning it, not to mention you really shouldn't be dumping all that filter cleaning solution down the gutter or in the sink if you care about where it goes. Stock paper filters are worth it in the long run!

Spend the money on a Bed mat instead. Better use of your money.

when you guys mention stock air filter, do you guys mean the filter from toyota or would the Fran/wix filters from the local walmart/autozone work?

I can't imagine the price difference would be very big between a factory filter and those discount ones, worth it to me to just stick with the factory filter.

Well after doing some more reading outside of this thread, I'll returning the K&N that I did buy. Seems like the whole oil thing that you guys mentioned is definitely not worth it in the long run.

Just bought a bedslide instead. So much better then a mat!

Yeah, I came to the same realization and will be returning the K&N. Also came to the realization that the bed mat looks dope and it should be my first mod! Looking for them on Amazon now. Will the one for the '16 fit on the '17??? Does the mat cover the truck bed D-rings when installed??

Yes it will fit, and there are cutouts for the rings.

Niiiiice. Gonna see if my Toyota dealer has it in stock then. Seems to be the same price as I've seen it on Amazon.

Put one in last week. Drove to Corona to buy it. Got a couple of swags from Terry. Got 10% off for being retired military. Replace my TRD air filter for a AFE dry filter. Save you money in the long run from buying from Toyota. Have one in my FJ for a long time. More air for the engine to breathe. You can feel the difference. I don't wash with soap like others, I just rinse with water til the water is clear then throw it back in. I don't dry it either. YMMV

Oiled filter.... Been There Done That".... Will NOT do that again... Messed up the MAFS and the throttle body was dirty as shit.... I cleaned both...removed the K&N and re-gained the immediate throttle response that I once had...not to mention 4 more MPG's...(my 2006 Taco)

DO NOT do it.... Step away from that Oily filter.... and grab a dry paper one..!!:thumbsup:

Still on the fence about the AFE air filter. Returned the K&N one I bought yesterday and went over to the dealer and got this.....My first mod!!!

I also just ordered my second mod lol. Got some of the vinyl inserts for the 'TACOMA' stamping on the tailgate and the glove box. Black for the tailgate and blue for the glove box. Had this truck less than a week and already my mind is racing about what to do next...

Honestly, not yet...But I could easily be convinced to get some! I'm sure with a little research here I could find the best fitting ones..

I bought the interior cabin air filter from Amazon and the engine air filter from the local Toyota dealer...

I would prefer to by the stock OEM Toyota air filter from Amazon as I would rather NOT give $$$ to the Dealer under any circumstance.
