I want to I stall subs on my 2017 tacoma double cab and was wondering what you guys have that have already done this. I went to my local car audio professional place and they gave me the estimate in the picture below. I'm sure I can find these parts for cheaper and pay them just the install cost. Thanks for feedback.

that quote doesn't have model numbers so nobody here can actually check your prices.

BUT, that's a cheap deal for a full dual sub install with an amp. being a sound quality oriented user myself, i'd be looking into what you're buying and what you expect.

my single sub, the actual sub itself, costs almost as much as your entire quote, for example. so, be sure you're buying something you'll like. if you're on the cheap, generally i'd recommend a higher quality single sub rather than duals. there's no reason whatsoever to have dual subs in a budget install.

EDIT: sorry, not sure where i saw dual subs. my mind's playing trix i suppose. anyway the point does still stand... check your parts that the quality is what you seek. if you're trying to go on a strict budget, you may be able to save a few more bones by buying a prebuilt enclosure with the sub included. those exist and can be really cheap.

I have been looking pretty seriously at the OEM Audi Plus setup. The sub won't shake the bolts loose, but I imagine the balance on that setup is pretty nice.

it's got plenty of good reviews around here. from what i hear it's not on the cheap side, but it's not on the full custom expensive side either.

$1500 and about as simple as an install could be.

if that price is right for you and you don't want to deal with the install headaches, do it!

i didn't keep it simple, and it took me about 3 months to get everything together, installed, and dialed in. the more custom your setup the more neurotic you become about it. and the expense, gawd. and with big power you also need more insulation and the like, so yeah, the relative convenience of that setup got looking better and better to me as i went through my personal hell (which i'm not entirely finished with!)

Do you have any photos? The sub in that kit will leave something to be desired but the space in the truck seems to be an issue.

The kit is just a relatively inexpensive, and more importantly, easy solution.

i don't have a photo of the sub side. i had one of the amp but can't find it right now. Mr Marv does custom boxes for a variety of sub sizes, and he fits everything perfectly. he built my box, and the quality is right. any sub you want within reason can be fit. i have a 13TW5, so shallow is necessary but big is possible. if i get a pic I'll post it, just don't want to remove the kids seats atm.

From the look of the Quote they gave you, it will be a pretty low powered system. The 'entry' level amp that the company I work for retails at $299.99CAD (Hertz HCP1D). Regardless I would be hesitant to use a 8ga amp kit, should you ever want to upgrade the amp and sub. I would use 4ga just to future proof yourself. also what sort of sub box is being used?

They didn't give me model numbers so I'm not entirely sure

I'd also be weary of letting them work on my brand new truck. High end stereo shops do some hokey shit... Low end shops are not something I'd mess with.
