    Truck stuff
    I started working on cars in High school. A lot of what I know I learned myself by just using the internet, youtube and different forums. I did go to school for a year for it until I learned my health was f*cked and I would never be able to do it as a career. You dont really need a lot in tools to be able to get started. Jack and stands(not needed so much with our trucks) and a basic set of tools are all thats needed for basic maintenance and can provide you with a good base to start learning the simple stuff. Once you start getting into more advanced maintenance and repair you may start needing specialty tools but for most work I could do it with a $100-$150 tool kit I carry in my truck. As you do more you may notice that things would be easier or faster with better/different tools and it makes it easier to upgrade tools as you need them and can afford them. My next purchase for my truck kit will be a good set of ratcheting wrenches. They make things so much easier and faster for places you cant get a socket wrench to fit. I'll also eventually get a battery powered impact to carry in the truck to speed things up even more assuming I can keep the batteries charged. Simple answer is get some tools and go for it. Best way for me to learn anything is to just jump in and go.

    Ouch.... poor silverspool and his uncomfortableness

    Also true, except when it is me, then he responds pretty quickly.

    Also true...

    Lots of shots fired up in here.

    Had to represent Texas while in Tennessee

    @SuperBad

    Also... there is a 3rd Gen Inferno Taco with SCS wheels, Sliders, and hidden winch located in Mabank, Texas everyone... a high school friends dad bought it and drove it out to Tennessee as well... I already told him about Jambo and he is pretty sure he will come to Jambo, he is going to try and get a lift on it before then.

    Also got the woman to drive the trails. She is getting a lot better and picking lines...

    You better believe it. Something about growing up in East Texas and such just bonds us better.

    More located in my build thread, did not want to throw all of them in here. I keep saying I want to get an actual camera, and everytime I go on trips and come back and see that I did not take a lot of pictures it always reaffirms that I want to get an actual camera so that I can actually take pictures of stuff...

    I think I used my SLR 1 time during ATR. I still plan on buying a better one though.

    Learned basics from my dad. Oil changes, tires, filters, general maintenance, etc. The more technical stuff (suspension, brakes, drivetrain, etc.) I have picked up from being on different automotive forums for the past 17 years.

    Video tutorials are a great resource obviously. Though I think hands-on is the best way to get a good feel for how everything works together. Hit up some wrench meets, ask questions, and get your hands dirty.

    Yea, I really want one for Jambo as I can get a lot of pictures there of everyone. Plus I think that if I had a camera I would end up carrying it with me and using it unlike my phone where I have it but don't really use it for pictures.

    mmmmmmmm can't wait! except you are a Tech fan.... sooooo don't know about that.
