Paid $25K for my 2011 DC-OR (in 2014) with 34000 miles. Stock with some silly add-ons.

This makes me feel so great about my 2015 with 20k on it. :muscleflexing:

I mean I would NEVER sell it, but this is good to know if ever stumble upon a devastating financial blow later in life

It's insane these 2nd gen tacoma prices.

I paid $26k including taxes for my 2010 with 8 miles on it. Granted it's a prerunner, but I believe back then a 4x4 would have added another $3-$4k which still would have made it under $30k .....7 friggin years ago!!!!!

2014 4x4 Sport, AC, Undercover tonneau cover, bedrug and the running bars (or whatever they're called nowdays); I think that's all the options that it has. It had 7000 miles on it when I bought it May 1st this year for $29000 OTD.

The used prices are just beyond belief. When it was new, I paid 29.5 for my '11 DC OR with auto and tow package. I only have 37k miles. Maybe I could sell it and make a profit!

In 2013 I paid $25k for my 2011 off road with 22K miles. I knew Tacoma's kept their value, but that's crazy. (in other words the price seems high, but part of me hopes that's the going rate because my truck would have gone up in value. Which I highly doubt)

$24.5K is too much for an 8 year old truck.

KBB has that from about $19.5K (good) to $21K (excellent) not including the custom crap. If people want to add their own aftermarket stuff, then they need to realize the value of those things isn't all that important. That crap was on their dime. A sucker born all the time for someone to pay that much.

I use KBB for a base price then add on how much you are 'willing' to pay for the extras you actually care about. This is my upper limit. I'd start way below that number but still make the offer reasonable/credible. Also know why the guy is selling in the first place. It might make negotiations easier. You might be able to throw in a partial trade. I have traded high end stuff like kayaks, firearms etc to cut down costs.

You're at the mercy of the market on these used Tacos to some extent. Certainly negotiate. But ultimately this doesn't sound like too a bad price....though a bit high....assuming it's clean and has been well maintained.

I wouldn't fart around too long or it will be gone. The used Taco market is strong

The dealer that I bought my 2015 from new has the exact same truck with 25k on it listed for about 1K more than I paid for mine. These prices for gen 2 Tacoma's are a little unreal.

    True, true...

Sometimes I walk the lot at my local dealer and really think they are driving the buyers to the new trucks!

It's like if you have great credit you get a new one, if your credit isn't so good they steer you to the used lot. It's nuts how a used 2014-2017 Taco with under 20K is priced so close and sometimes more than the new units!

And if you had the cash to buy a truck outright you want to be smart and try and buy used to you know (not take the hit every new car gets when you drive it off the lot) but apparently that's not the case with Tacomas.

If I sell my 2015 DCTRDOR with tow package I'll probably ask 32k or I'll keep it. It only has 2500 miles on it though and has an extended warranty. I keep toying with importing a 25 year or older Land Cruiser.

Just paid 19k for a DCSB 2010 TRD sport 2WD with 83k miles. It included front and rear long travel suspension, boxed frame, sound system engine cage and much more. I think he is asking too much bro!

When I bought my 2015 two years ago I was planning to buy used (we normally buy ~2 year old vehicles to avoid the initial depreciation) but it was less expensive for me to buy new via Costco's auto buying program than something a couple years old.

I drive past a Toyota used car dealership often and even still see 2nd gens for sale at $25-27k or more.

    +1 to all of this.

I paid only $100 more than this one's asking price for my 45K mile CPO 2013 Access Cab 4x4 V6 6MT TRD OR was $24.6K from a dealer ~1.5yrs ago. I realize it's "only" an Access Cab, but it was five years newer, had 32K fewer miles, and included a CPO warranty.

I got my 2012 4x4 tx pro AC 6MT in April with 32k miles on it for $25,800... I think the asking price on the one you posted is a little steep. That said, I did look for about 3-4 months before finding what I wanted at the price I was willing to pay. Keep looking and you will find the right truck for you!
