Mine stopped building up after we flushed it, and cleaned the strainer. The fluid level was building up to high because my strainer was gunked up. Make sure to check the seal on the cap, fluid can slosh out if the seal is bad.

Clean the threads real good. They'll (grade 8) hold up. Just don't put any generic nuts on there. The high heat will seize them. Also, keep in mind the common cause for an upstream to fail is a stopped up cat.

It seems like the threads are 8mm x 1.25, and the OEM is a locking nut. You can match it up at the parts store.

I think they're called steel grip sockets, kobalt. I thought it was kind of a gimmick honestly but it actually worked so can't complain

How do you clean out the cat? Do I have to take it off and spray something in there?

I bought a new one from Autozone, look on their website. You can take it off and clean it. I just went new. They sell direct fit (it cost a little more, but it bolts on), or a universal that you can cut old one off & weld new cat on. If you take your cat off, pick-up two donut gaskets and new nuts & bolts. My old bolts were in rough shape.

I spent so much on that darn O2 sensor I didn't want the cat to overheat it again.

If weldings not your thing, some local welder can do it for 1/2 hour labor(I'd take my on part and just pay them to weld).

    Good luck!

Here's a pic of my catalytic converter...

Yea, I think Autozone had a direct fit CA compliant cat. Probably cost more though. No issues with mine. It had a good warranty also.

Was replacing my PCV valve and the grommet was being stubborn - so I pulled the covers and painted them. Got some bedsides last night from a guy that has a 2 story garage with a lift. :jellydance:

How much trouble is it to tighten up or replace the ebrake cable?

I only had to do the back half, depending on what halfs loose it's easy, you can tighten the back half right under the drivers side door. It's two nuts you have to mess with, easy to figure it out.

Replacing isn't a bad. Just order the cable from the Gunny dude, autozone/ autozone doesn't have one that works even though they say they do.

found a crack in my header, O2 sensor might have been a waste of money. Anyone know what kind of socket is used to take out exhaust studs? I know normal 6 point sockets will fit but the studs have a weird shape to them and I don't want to round it off. I rounded off the last nut I needed to get off so I think just taking the stud out will be easier.
