I think a lot of people lurking here have the same questions. Also wonder if it will have a working instrument cluster. The spec sheets still say 6 speed AT, so the only hope is that it has a better tune. I'm hoping the delay in the new models is because they are trying to address the noisy rear diffs, but who knows?

I definitely don't want leather in my next Access Cab, so I'm glad to hear I won't have to have it in order to get some of the other premium options.

Don't worry. Toyota will be sure to carry over those in 2018. Normal part of the vehicle. :D

Seriously though - I pretty much guarantee they wont make any changes to the drive train.

I think we would all love a new 8sp auto, non-recalled rear end, LED high lights, LED tails, a little more torque, etc, but at this point we're just hoping, wishing, and awaiting official news.

So the six speed transmission shifts and hunts for gears too much and people are hoping for an eight speed? Wow I was hoping they would go back to the tried-and-true five speed. Not two more overdrives.

Change in drivertrain this early on is not topical of Toyota.

All this new safety stuff has me bummed. More electronics to go wrong and a hideous looking camera setup thing in the windshield. Great..

It's behind a Toyota emblem in the front grill, not on the windshield. I believe now the truck will come with a power tailgate lock, and LED taillights for the TRD trims and above

I sure don't get the resistance to new safety features. Getting my ass, or anyone else's saved in a pickle sure as hell overrides any negatives to me.

I have a lifted 4runner trail with KDSS, and I wish I got the pro just because it doesn't have the KDSS. It is a bit of a pain when lifting, and they have two swaybars so you need to deal with it twice if lifting front and rear. but my biggest complaint is the lean like you said. the truck is always sitting different. Sometimes it's level, but usually drivers side high. And I already have way more preload on the passenger side.
With the pro, I could just take the swaybars off when I plan to wheel.

Moms got a 17' Highlander with the Atkin 3.5 and 8sp tranny. It shifts constantly and is always in the wrong gear, and you can feel it shift which adds to the frustration.

The vehicle drives nice and has good power, but the transmission is ridiculous.

I really don't get it either. I'm flabbergasted by some of the resistance. No driver is perfect. I welcome the assist.

Our 3rd gen trucks are already loaded with safety features. I appreciate that these are there to prevent bodily harm, and glad to have them.

Just speaking for myself, I am glad my 2016 truck does not have safety sense.

Not that I am against any safety feature per say, but the long term maintenance of that particular system worries me.

What kind of maintenance does TSS-P require?
