OME 90021 struts- thoughts?

I know, I know OME has been beaten to death and I did search...

With 90,000 miles on my completely stock 2009 doublecab trd offroad I'm looking for an suspension upgrade. I've decided to go with ome 883 coils, and have been going back and forth between the 90000 sports and the old n140s nitrochargers- main hang up was the older version was valved softer which I like since my trucks a daily driver. Now I see toytec and headstrong off road are showing another option, the 90021 sports, a softer version of the 90000. Anyone have experience with the 90021 shocks and how they compare to the n1402 or 90000?

So far I love my 90000 with 884s I got 2 1/2 inches of lift and it rides great, better than stock and handles better. I would think the 883s would be real smooth...
I do have the sport and the sport shocks are stiff....

 

Bumping this thread as I too am curious if anyone has any real world experience with the OME 90021.

They're good shocks. I have had 5100s and 90021s.

That said, I only swapped because the 5100 rears didn't work with my rear lift. OME shocks cost me a lot more than the 5100s did, and I can't tell a difference in ride. I have the OME clang from my front shocks when I go over bumps, which doesn't bother me but is something that I'd be okay not having to hear.

So.. if you can use 5100s - get them. If you can't, the 90021s are not creating any sacrifices.

 

It's been exactly a year (minus 4 hours) since the last post here. What's the verdict on the ride difference for others at this point. I'm about the pull the trigger on the 90021's with 885 coils up front and the 1.5" rear progressive matched with OME 60091 rear shocks from Wheelers. Think that's a good choice there? Should give about 2" in front and 1.5" in back and still have a slight forward rake (which I'm a fan of).

@T4RFTMFW What is this "clank" you talk about? Never heard of that in my research. Thanks!

 

I'm running 5100s with 885s and an ARB front bumper (no winch)...it's smooth and rides awesome.

Cool. Thanks for letting me know. I'll look into it. I ask because I JUST ordered the 90021 struts matched to the 885 coils. Does that setup also have the clank? Why in the world would they do that? Oy.

 

I have the 5100s with the 883 up front and after 2 failed sets of 5100s in the rear I just switched over to the OME 60091s out back. I would like to go with the 90021s up front next time but am concerned about the lunking issue. So OME has not addressed that issue ?

 

I have no such noise with my set up......?????

I've been running the 90021's since May and it has been great. Firm enough, but smooth and playful. Makes it easy to blitz the forest roads (with tires aired down) and keep my wife happy.

 

And you do not have the clunking sound that some have mentioned?
