I may practice with the winch by pulling my wifes car along  but in all seriousness, that is how I may spool it up the first time. Just find an open lot and pull her car.

For the top I may get a rubber mat cut to fit! I'd get one of those horse mats from tractor supply since they're pretty cheap for a 4'x8' mat.

There is no good deal with my gf. All she sees is money going towards my truck. oh well...I've told her it could be on much worse things!

hahaha that's actually not a bad idea! that's funny, I always just assumed they came spooled lol yeah those horse mats are pretty popular and cost effective! probably a good route to go to keep things from sliding around.

on a side note. any one here have a Toyota bed matt in their bed that they have cut or maybe drilled a hole through? the reason I ask is because I just added some bed tie downs near the cab which are under the matt. I'm thinking of using a hole saw to cut out a hole where the tie down is. its the oem tie downs that pivot so I would like the hole to be big enough to allow for it to pivot. any objections as to use a hole saw? I could use a exacto blade, but I feel the hole saw will leave a nice perfectly round hole

Yeah it's like they took a bad thing and made it a terrible thing.

Yeah exactly my point! Give her a TRD Pro 4Runner with 'Will you marry me?' written on the front windshield.

@EatSleepTacos the wheels your running are they the same as the stock wheels as far as offset? I am noticing when I turn my wheels I am getting alot of noise and roughness. I cant decide if the tires are rubbing or if its the outer lugs on the pavement. (If that makes sense)... tonight on my way to work as I was in the curve on the 81 to 64 interchange I got that noise again and the truck shut off fuel and traction control kicked on. Then it did it again turning the other way when I was making a turn to pull into work. I cant see any evidence of rubbing but that doesnt mean its not. I need to have someone turn the wheel while I look around. Hoping I dont have to run spacers but I guess if it comes to it then I will.

I think the wheels I have are +15mm offset as opposed to +30 of stock wheels, so mine poke a little more. With that being said though, I somehow rub my LCA which is weird. What you're describing sounds like your VSC kicking in since you just lifted it. Give this thread a shot.

What wheels are you running and what size tires?

I grew up in Colorado living in the mountains, I hate not having mountains to tear up with my board here in Iowa!

I wish I had a decent excuse....i just got too fat and out of shape. My wife and I used go at least once a week night boarding. But then we had kids and all the fun seemed to come to a screeching halt. Hoping that changes as they start to get older.

    That damn rain!!

I still don't understand why there is not many members from Ontario/Quebec... But I am sure a lot of people are lurking! If not, where did they get their ideas to mod their truck like some people here? I think they are just scare to participate, like I was the first year I bought the truck lol

Hole saw might do the trick but I think it will grab a lot when you'll get into the rubber! Watch your wrist and you'll be fine i guess. I did my cuts in my horse pad with the exacto and it was fine but it don't makes a good looking job. Other guys at work use the quickcut to cut them, making a blue smoke show

I grew up on the fake snow in Pennsylvania. It was super rare to have real snow. I look forward to trying to go this year in Pennsylvania or even NY.

yeah I have a feeling they are just lurking for sure haha there seems to be quite a few from the Toronto area, they have quite a few meets down that way. Ardbeg sounds awesome but I would want my lift and armour before I join in on that run haha they are having a little meet n run this weekend on some stock friendly roads. I am very tempted to go, but its a 3 1/2 hour drive for me haha I could stay at my friends house in Perth the Friday which would cut about 45mins off the drive tho
