Never, kids walk to school through the tornadoes there. Occasionally they lose one, but that's just the Amish way.

 

Yup. Lot of surface area. They are shutting our ambulances down at 45 mph winds. Honestly I wouldn't want to be in that thing in a 35 mph wind. It will drive like shit.

 

I do believe there was sarcasm in EJs post, though I could be wrong. I understand south Alabama closing but any of us North of the TN river is just ridiculous...when I went through grade school we would've been kept after hours if buses couldn't drive, put on the lowest level of the school, and told to put our heads between our knees. Like real Americans.

Never, just like the chance of kids surviving in 20mph winds. They would NEVER survive.

 

And then they found out that people would put themselves in extra danger by trying to come up to the school to get their kids in a storm, after dark. More people on roadways, more chance of illogical loss of life, storm or not. So they weighed the benefit of one day of school versus an entire life left to live of a child or parent, and determined that schools closing is a better option.

 

Little fuckers would get blown everywhere. Oceans would disappear etc.

 

Be honest. In Alabama there would be a brawl in the parking lot with parents.

 

Are we talking about a normal day or...? lol

 

Schools let out at 3pm...

 

They would be a bit more irritated than normal because it's raining. But the breeze will keep them from sweating while brawling.

I also said the winds wouldn't hit us till 8pm dude. The after hours comment was if I was in school and weather was even possible during the school day they would've kept us. I also referenced tornadoes.

 

My response was general.

 

I just think it's silly to cancel school for 2 days up here, whatever "possible reasons" or not..it's just some rain, and possibly 30mph wind tonight.

 

I choose not to come to meets, and choose to do chores instead. I came to one when we were mounting my winch and adjusting my bumper, but no point in driving that far to sit around and drink beer, I can do that in HSV boi.

 

I'm not saying I disagree with you. But anytime I see, hear, or (more often than not) smell someone using the fallacy, "...like real Americans" I cannot help myself.
