I really like this truck so much better than the manual V6. On the ~200 mile drive back I kept saying why did I not buy this truck first. This is a great drive and the i4 manual feels a lot more solid than the other truck. I found myself speeding unexpectedly multiple times. I did find this so much more quieter than the 6 with the howling diff. 400 miles on it and no howl. Oh and I cannot wait to modify it.

I never posted a proper picture of my truck, only one from the dealer. So here's mine. Traded my 2015 SR5 V6 for this 2017 SR 2.7 4x4 manual.IMG_0723.jpg

So far this is what I have added to my '17 SR:
    • Installed the cruise control switch that I bought from "Issyzone" on Amazon. I got the steering wheel cover plate (45186-04030-B0) with the hole for the cruise control switch from Toyota Parts Deals.
    • Installed an intermittent wiper switch I got from TLS Auto Recycling (https://www.tlsautorecycling.com) for $50 with a 1 year warranty! It was out of a wrecked 2014 Camry and had no cosmetic flaws and works perfectly!
    • Installed a Southeast Toyota key-less entry system (00016-32901) and it makes it so much nicer since the truck doesn't have a key tumbler on the passenger door! https://www.toyotamcdonoughparts.co...east-toyota-keyless-entry-system-00016-32901/
All said and done I have added these "creature comforts" for about $200 and a Saturday's worth of time! Not bad considering Toyota wanted $480 for key-less entry and cruise from what I understand.

I also took the Predator Tube steps off (in the way as I'm 6' 3" so I can get into the truck no problem) and removed the air dam. I prefer the look without those two items on the truck!

So I was on the TRD OR DC 4x4 boat, but looking real hard into an SR..

Question, on the toyo site I can't see if it's an option or not. Can I get an SR DC short bed 4x4? With the 4cyl?

Edit: if not, how's everyone like the access cab?

So it's either access cab for the 4x4
Or DCSB sr5 4x4... dang it.

    Can't get a SR5 DCSB 4x4 with a 4 cyl either. So it's either AC or the V6.

So SR DCSB 4x4 V6, puts me right around 30k.. I know the trd OR was close to impossible to haggle down the price in California.. I wonder if the SR might be a little easier? Hoping to keep the price closer to 25k

I have no clue to be honest, but I think you'll be more in the 30-32k range for that config. But who knows go around and see what kinda deals you can spark up with the dealers.

5100's all around, OME 887 with 1/4" spacer, icon 3 leaf aal. 255/75/17 BFG KM's on 4runner pro's. Rigid led pods. Debadged and tinted.
With the SR you will be "closer" to 25k, but nowhere near it in that config. You'll have to go access cab/utility package to be near 25k.

The dealer I bought from was willing to do invoice on my SR, and the off-road I looked at. Made it an apples to apples decision for me. I would shop other dealers.

Not bad even though I practically did it twice:annoyed:

Props to southeast Toyota and Toyota of McDonough for providing a great install guide (https://d354nuoz4t18d4.cloudfront.n...32901_16ta_TOYOTA_MCDONOUGH.pdf?cb=1505062354) with the kit. Lays out every plug and wire you have to tap into and gives step by step instructions! I did it twice because I had it all wired up and could not get the truck into programming mode so I went back with my Fluke multi-meter and did continuity testing on every connection (should have done this to begin with but I was in a rush). Of course the last connection I tested wasn't good so I took the t-tap connector off and soldered it on. This was the 12V wire from the ignition switch and honestly the 2 wires being tapped together are too big for the provided t-tap anyways. I wasn't super thrilled with the t-tap connections but Toyota gives their stamp of approval on this kit and I am pleased with the install now that its done and working great!

I will add that the range is not impressive but its better than having someone yank on my passenger door handle until I could get my key in the door

I got my 17 SR 4x4 for right at $25100 otd. But, they gave me $29500 for my trade so the number does not include any taxes. Mine is NOT the utility package...

I like this thread the more I read it the more it makes me think about getting a SR instead of an Off-Road. My only problem would be the seats, the seats in my 2nd gen Sr5 were horrible!
