Yeah I figured that. I was under the impression that if they dial in the caster at the LCAs you will likely end up with positive camber. My camber came in at -.1 up front both sides so not sure how he managed that only adjusting at the LCAs. I gave him the LR UCA adjustment instructions, but when I picked up he said he was able to get the specs I wanted all at the LCAs. Interesting....

 

Hoping you guys and gals can help me out. Been doing a lot of research and have not found all of my answers. I am looking at lifting my 2015 access cab V6 Manual TRD OR. This is the lift I am currently looking at:

Front:
Billstein 6112's ( set on 5th setting)
Light Racing upper control arms
Rear:
Billstein 5100's (extended/RCD)
Dakar leaf pack ( light duty)

Does anyone have any experience with this set up ? And if so please let me know your thoughts either on here or shoot me a message.

I have a leer cap on my truck how will this affect the Dakar leaf pack?

How does the Light duty pack perform on road for ride quality? Is it like riding a 2x4 down a mountain or ?

Any help will be much appreciated !! First lift for this truck and I want to do it right the first time.

 

If I have a pelfreybilt alum front bumper and (steel) skid plate, pelfreybilt steel rear bumper, and the T|X Baja suspension, would it be an upgrade to go to OME nitrocharger sports?

 

The OME 866 coils are designed to handle after market bumpers.

 

Are the shocks themselves an upgrade over the shocks Toyota/bilstein puts on the baja package though?

 

The light duty Dakars will be great since you have a Leer cap. Ride quality is great and not stiff unless there is no load at all. Even then, it's not bad. Can't speak for the Bilsteins since I have OME nitrochargers, but you can't go wrong either way.

I can't attest to that. I have the TRD sport and have yet to install my setup. I'm sure it is an upgrade.

I would consult OME's website. They have all kinds of charts and what not there to help you decide. I'll be getting an ARB bumper eventually so I wanted to make sure I got a setup that can handle it with ease. The 886 coils were designed to handle the ARB bumper, hence why I went that route.

 

Depends on how much lift you want up front... And whether you'll be adding sliders or a winch. I'm running 887s with Pelfreybilt aluminum front bumper, aluminum skid, and SOS sliders. I def lost some lift with the 887s and extra weight.

I'd be looking at 886s or 887s if you wanted 2+ inches with all your extra weight.

 

They're the same spring rate so ride wise it won't be different.

 

These are good. My alignment guy sucked. He got up to 2.4 caster and didn't;t mes with the UCA either. Still rides just okay though. Shoot for 2.7 and it'll feel more like you have razor sharp steering (assuming mildly aggressive tires in great condition and a good balance).

I have a 2015 4x4 Access cab TRD Off-Road with a Leer cap. I recently was lucky enough to get the 16X8 SCS Ray 10s and in about a month I'll be purchasing 265/75r16 BFG KO2s (approximately 1 inch taller than my stock tires) and a complete OME lift.

Here's a picture of the truck currently and the wheels:


After doing a lot of research I decided that I would really like to stick to a 2 inch lift (or as close as possible) because I think that's what looks best proportionately with the tire size I'm going for. In reading this forum and looking at the Headstrong Off-Road website it looks like the best way to get the closest to a 2 inch lift with my setup is: Headstrong complete OME Kit with 884 coils, strut selection (not sure?), LR UCAs, Dakar light duty leaf pack.

Do you guys with Old Man Emu think this is the best setup for me? I'd appreciate any input or recommendations. Thanks!

884s with 5100s gave me about 1.75" and a nice ride.

 

I go on surf trips down to Baja and want to be able to make it to places that others can't for less crowded/empty waves. Mostly dirt roads with some rocky areas, silt beds and sand dunes. I also go up to the central coast to camp and the mountains to snowboard. Nothing too crazy, just looking for a noticeable increase in all around off-road capability over stock while still having a good ride on the road.

 

884s and some semi aggressive tires should do the trick.

 

I have original Bilsteins on my Baja T/X which really ran great with 265/75R16 Duratracs. For what you intend to do OME's basic lift and your KO2's will be more than fine. However, if you load down the bed you might want to do some cheap AALs. My truck probably looked more proportional and was far easier to maintain when it was this size. I now run 285/75R16 tires with about a 3" lift up front and who knows in the back. It looks like a need to go up to 35" tires...

 

Cool, do you think the light duty dakars are a good choice with my shell or are they going to sag a ton over time? I'm unsure if I should get the light duty ones or just get the heavys and remove a leaf.
