How does that pop and lock work? Does it replace the current tailgate lever?

It's a replacement handle. The entire stock assembly is removed and the new pop and lock is put in its place.

So shiny! I spy your stock tires, was this when you first put them on? Why do you still have a sway bar?!

Haha yeah that's while it was still up on @Speed Freek 's jack stands. Looked pretty funny with a lift on stock tires. Like a hotdog in a hallway.

I'm still debating the sway bar. I make a lot of trips up to Tahoe and I've never gone without one so I'm a little nervous about that haha

It takes a little getting used too, takes corners a little more slowly and use the right technique (aka don't brake in a corner, hold a smooth consistent acceleration through the corner) and you'll be just fine! Makes a big difference off road

Am I missing something with and without the sway bar?

With the sway bar you have better street handling.
Without the sway bar you have a better ride and better articulation off road.

There's trade offs with every mod. With a set of coilovers the higher spring rate keeps the truck more well controlled, vs no sway bar and stock suspension which is a little too wobbly.

Having the sway bar removed allows the front suspension to truly work independently.

    Yes
The Crossings at Carlsbad and Encinitas Ranch are both nearby and reasonably priced vs. Torrey Pines.
