    That piece is mounted at top of the center rail behind the cab to align the factory tonneau cover.

    warranty it. its the post at the center/back of the bed that keeps the tonneau centered as others have said.

    You got kids? Maybe they were walking on the tonneau cover? Have you removed the cover recently? To me, it shouldnt break so easy but i guess cheap enough to replace...

    Mine also broke recently. Dealer is ordering me a new one. The part can't handle the bumps of daily driving.

    no kids and i removed it over a month ago... guessing the bumpy roads but still thats crazy.

    If i dont replace it, will it mess anything up?

    My understanding is that you lose around 5hp but other than that it should be okay without it.:D

    lol. looks like its just to align the factory tonneau cover but doesnt have any structural use for it so I think it should be okay also.
