Oh good point....I wonder if it has anything to do with the Sat side of the radio or how there are High Def channels!!!!? Man great point @whopper , that might be the issue.....

Of course I am no expert on lights or radios.......I do have a friend though that can build just about anything, I will ask him and see if he has any ideas.

Oh Right......hmmm, then maybe not so much the type of signal at the radio..........oh, here's a weird test, have you tried a CD or tried a jump drive in the USB port, or better yet, a 3.5mm cable from your cell phone to the jack on the dash with your cell phone as the source?

Those would all be great ways to help determine if the radio is part of the link or just the tuner side of the radio. Again, not an expert but my guess is, all sources are wired through the amp side of the radio.....

would just be crazy to find those other two sources don't cause the problem.

I'm still gonna run this by my bud in NM. Like I said he's a super nerd.........the guy just build a two seater experimental aircraft. He has also built stereo systems that included electrostatic speakers. And he's a vegan! (LOL, sorry, just had to throw that in there)..........of course I have seen him doing some crazy on/off road crap before too.

This is very troubling to hear. As soon as we get a set of lights back we are going to be renting a truck or two and we will be doing extensive testing to try and recreate this problem. If it is at all possible, can anyone that is having static issues let me know your city and state? You can PM if you dont want to post it publicly

We have some local guys with the TRD's that havent been having issues with the radio signal. Which is also why its been difficult for us to try and get to the root of the problem.

It really is, as this is the first time we have had this issue. Our other LED tail lights that we make have not had this same issue

On a less serious note, the second have of your post made me laugh a little louder than I should have

Yea I can't call him a nerd at all, he is just a brainiac. He's my tech guru. There's not much he doesn't know, that's for sure. And yea, look, you guys are doing everything possible to make this right for sure so you get huge props in my book, I am just trying to lighten the mood a little. This is definitely some shite that would be happening to me. Murphys Law ain't got nothing on me!

Being as there isn't many options on the market, I don't blame you. Electronics aren't perfect, so don't know why they haven't been QC'd properly.

I'm not an expert, but this sounds like a ground loop problem to me. If you are unfamiliar with the concept of a ground loop, its when different devices are connected to separate ground points and there is a difference in resistance. I've chased a few of these problems on cars before. Basically you have to get the offending device and your radio on the same ground.

Truck is a 2017, I'm not chasing or changing wiring. If they don't work, they don't work,
