Ok so my 2nd taco is having an intermittent misfire only in cylinder 3 and it'll kind of bog until it reaches higher RPMs when driving, then it's fine. But then when I shift and the RPMs are lower it still runs rough until the RPMs get higher. Any help is appreciated

spark or fuel so injector or coil if you have already pulled and replaced the spark plug. If you did, did you notice if that plug well was partially full of oil?

Only other thing is maybe a head gasket issue, are you losing coolant?

I haven't pulled the plugs yet, and if it sits for like two weeks or more I have to put more coolant in it.

Pull the plug and inspect it's condition, if it's really clean then I'd start suspecting the head gasket.

Is there anything else bolted to the middle tube right before the throttle body?

Looks fairly normal for a plug in a cylinder that's been missing. Sounds like you have a fuel injector going bad.

Looks like coolant. I don't know if something like K-seal would fix it, though. Does it smell like fuel?

It smells like fuel and there's what looks like a lot of carbon buildup on the cylinder head

How hard is it to pull the injectors? Do I have to take the whole intake manifold off?

Does anyone have a video or guide to get to and pull the injectors on the 2RZ? Any help is appreciated

Before pulling the injectors, try swapping 2 of the spark plug wires around to see if the misfire moves. Sometimes the wires will test good for resistance but still fail on the car. Or just replace them if they are old. (This happened to me.)

You could try a compression test before pulling the injectors.

The repair manual will say to replace all the o-rings on the injectors if you remove them, but they should be fine if you lube them with gas before reinstalling. You'll just have to see what the o-rings look like upon removal.

*UPDATE* pulled the rest of the plugs today and looked at the piston heads in each cylinder and #3 looks to have some fluid on top of the piston head. Couldn't get a picture this time but it looks a little like oil to me.

I'm almost positive it's your coil pack in the distributor. Same thing happened to me. The fluid your seeing is probably from just the gas breaking down all the gunk on the piston and head. I spent a lot of money trying to figure it out and after a year of giving up I bought the coil and it was a dream come true
