yeah mine has decided to be super temperamental, even with the replacement one. Dealer isn't being all that helpful so ended up calling Toyota and starting a case for the whole thing.

See they asked me if I had the short throw kit in it, so that would make sense for reverse. But I never put one in and the truck didn't come with it. Really only way to describe it is like an old farm tractor trying to get it into gear. Doesn't make sense on a truck with 45,000 miles. I just wanted to get someone else's experience to see if I'm crazy or not about this.

 

My old accord has trouble going into gears sometimes, have to be at a dead stop to go into first. And have to rock it sometimes to get it into gear. But that has 242k, no excuse on yours. That sucks

 

yeah essentially that's whats going on with mine... 242k totally get it.. 45k nope not so much. I ended up calling Toyota Corporate and filed a complaint on the whole thing. See what happens I guess

 

How long is the power train warranty on our trucks

 

mines good till 100k I didn't end up buying the extended one since it was like $2500 and only took it till 120k

 

I don't see why this isn't covered then

 

weird right? What I got was the clutch pedal isn't lubricated by any oil so its not covered under the powertrain. Transmission is... but now I think they don't want to slap in another new one if this is really acting up.
I even told when they replaced it the first time I would covered the clutch and throw out bearing just to make sure everything is new parts... they ignored that so I have a 45k clutch with a new transmission. so who knows whats going on in there now

 

Are you near Rochester? I know the managers at hoselton Toyota

 

I'm like 3.5 hours from there I'm just on the MA border with NY. Worst case if they make me go to another dealer for a second opinion or it goes buy back or something, I'd def would appreciate the offer...

sooo i've decided to put modding the truck on hold for a year so i can get the track bike set up for racing. let's see how well i stick to this plan haha
