It was a quote from post I decided not to send that was still in my reply it wasn't supposed to be there...lol It was in reference to you filling yup the thread with non-tune related info, getting banned and then being sarcastic when people posted not directly related to the tune (I assume poking fun at the mods for banning you?). New people didn't realize what you were doing so I WAS going to point it out to them, then thought better of it...oh well, accidents happen. :)

What pressure are you running your tires at. Seems like the difference of 30 to 35 psi had more influence on mpg than the tune did. Not saying the tune didn't improve it, it did, but I'm curious about tire pressure in relating to mpg. When I run 35 I get around 19 avg and at 30 psi I average 17.
    I'm running 285/75 16 Geolander MT

So identify works but you can't read and save your ecu file. Only thing I can think of is to make sure engine is off and ignition mode is on, and truck is not in accessory mode.

If you are having this error please email or pm me your dongle serial number. Pcmflash shows it when you first load the program

Mine did the same thing yesterday. Had to go into pcmflash and hit identification then send him a pic of the dongle serial number.

So I was just on a long drive today and got stuck in road work. We ended up going down hill so I was coasting and as the grade got smaller toward toward the bottom the truck could NOT figure out what to do. It was constantly fluctuating between 1 and 2k RPM at 30mph. The weird thing was it didn't feel like it was changing gears, the flux felt entirely fluid. I'm not sure what the deal is but I'm not as wild about 1.02 as I was about 1.01b. The power is much better and much easier to access, but it's brought some wierd quirks along with it.

THAT sounds exactly like the decel fuel cutoff weirdness in all our trucks. Coast up to about 2000-2500 with your foot off the gas, and if the hill is steep enough you'll gain speed. Then, at that magic RPM the fuel literally gets cut off and the engine braking becomes more pronounced. The truck will then decelerate, until you reach about 1300 - rinse/repeat. Thing is, it's been that way for me since day one of ownership. It's very annoying when off road going downhill, even in 4lo 1st gear. FYI I don't think Mat has touched that yet - and we've asked him to!

I noticed it from the factory, pissed me off quite a bit as I live in the mountains and have to coast all the time. 1.01 didn't have it though.

Edit: feel like this post made it sound like I knew this was a factory issue but am blaming the tune. It never felt fluid before, and never at that low of a speed. I'm not sure what was added/removed in 1.02 to highlight this issue.

Hmm that's weird that 101 didn't do it. My M/T did it stock and still does it after 1.02. Maybe A/T programming ass-hattery makes it different somehow?

Anyway, your description sure sounded like DFCO to me

I almost feel like the torque converter on this truck is whats causing this weirdness. I logged a funny instance that happened with RPMs jumping around, but the tranny was NOT shifting.

    Weird.

if I am reading correctly it sounds like toyotas stock DCFO and engine brake programming. It's in all of the new programming logic and lockup. After you start coasting for a certain period of time the car will go into whichever gear is best to help engine brake, RPM will be around 2000 or so and there will be no fuel.
It's nothing unique, the LC500 does the same thing, RCF, IS, etc , coasting in 10th gear it will downshift and hold engine brake around 2000-2500 RPM.

Another thing is that for autos there is the variance in converter lock up which begins right about 1500 rpm.
It can feel very abrupt when you have DCFO lock / unlock / engine brake all around the same RPM when you're off throttle.

Turn the AC on to amplify it and then you can really feel when the interchange is.

This is what we're feeling, or at least I am. Coasting, then it downshifts, then I want to accelerate so the RPMs ramp up, then it up shifts.. and im annoyed.
