If its not the recall and your diff is locked up, then I'd suspect brakes.
I used to have the issue when I washed the truck any time. Found the brakes would seize up a bit if you don't move right after. and its been reported by others.

So now after I wash I usually take a quick drive around the block and brake a little harder than a normal stop just to get them cleaned up and dried out.

I seem to recall a thread several months back where someone had this issue with their 2nd gen after going through one of those automatic car washes at the gas station, turned out to be a rear brake/drum issue.

I remember there being a few threads on the issue but don't remember what the final issue was. The 1 stands out cause his truck seized up right across the street from the dealer and they would not even come look at it so he had to have it towed over and they put it up on the rack and could not find out why it had been locked up.

This. I have had the same thing happen a few times. The rear drum brakes have always been the problem. Sometimes it is frozen water, sometimes mud, and most recently a sticky e-brake cable. Take them apart, clean them up, re-adjust and I bet the problem goes away.

My Turd e-brake I use every day when parked, once sort of locked up when I came back from a car wash
and immediately parked and applied the foot brake and it sat overnight.

next day truck would not budge...until I re-engaged and disengaged e-brake two times. problem
    never came back.

I think brake dust + water + e-brake can make them stick to drums temporarily.

Newer / younger consumers are spoiled with disc brakes and some people forget that drum brakes are old school and have problems. I'm an old timer and drum brakes just suck ! This is not that uncommon in the rust Belt where i was from. Drum brakes have no place on a modern motor vehicle.

My left rear wheel was locked up when I went into the mountains when it was below freezing. Only way I could get moving was to put it in 4Lo and lock my rear diff. But once I let off the throttle, the brake grabs, and locks the wheel again.

I experienced the exact same issue as the OP, driver rear stuck and drug down the driveway. I couldn't get it to break free by cycling the e-brake handle, 4-low etc..I needed the truck so I took the drum off, cycled the adjuster a turn and then back tapped the shoes and reinstalled the drum..problem gone.

I have had the rear drums stick a little after washing the car and letting it sit but this felt like a mechanical lock on the drum. Will be mentioning it to the dealer at my next service.

I know for a fact that water gets into the drums when washing especially if you give the undercarriage a good spray which I like to do in the winter to rinse the salt off. I've had the drums freeze after washing in the winter.

I also like to give the underside of my truck a good hose down before working on it so I don't have dirt and grit raining down on me when I'm underneath (I live on a dirt road). The last time I washed and serviced my truck, I pulled the drums to do a visual inspection of the brakes and was surprised how much water was inside the drums.

this exact thing happened to me but it was after getting my rear drums serviced at the dealer and came home and pulled the e brake. later that night tried to go to dinner and the truck was stuck.
turned out the e brake was not re-installed correctly and was getting stuck once i engaged it at home in the driveway after i left the dealer.

also mine do get sticky if they sit after washing the truck...

Alright guys, i just got a phone call from the dealership (1 week later) and said they were able to resolve the problem. They said it was the right rear E brake binding together caused by debris and suggested not getting drum breaks wet when washing the vehicle. Toyota should have made rear disc brakes IMO. They did take care of it with no charge since they said it was non warranty related.

I try to remember to take the truck around the neighborhood after washing. This further reiterates the need to do so. Thanks for the update!

Correct, when it begins to rain, you have to immediately start thinking about bunkering down and looking for shelter.
