It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.

oh well in that case the way I see it is, it doesn't really reduce droop unless you look at it as the spacer is already creating some droop I.e of you have 6" of available droop and you space out a 3" lift, it uses 3 of those available inches and now you only have 3" of droop left, but if suspended by the frame and allow to droop on its own, both stock and spaced should yield the same.

Basic bandages and soft wrap. Something to clean a wound with like sterile water. Motrin etc, cpr mask. You can do a lot with soft wrap like making bandages to stop bleeding and making a arm splint. You can make a splint for something broken with some sticks and soft wrap. Keep some gloves in there too. Emergency blanket would be a good thing to have too. Maybe some sterile 4x4's. Could always use quick clot for something major.

no the graphic is dtill full of shit. risk of damage at full compression, not droop

and there is no reduced down travel. there is reduced compression due to bottoming out on the shock.

seems like they basically have their terminology reversed

A spacer would add down travel because you're moving the coilovers down. Also, with a spacer, up travel will be less by the amount of down travel you achieved.

Spacers are bad news either way. If your coil compresses fully before your bump stop hits, you'll destroy your coilovers.

Wish I had time to find the broken shock pictures that I've seen so many times.

Experience from my Silverado, and I don't know where the Tacoma IFS droop stop is located.

If you change the geometry of the suspension with a spacer, the droop stop will be the limiting factor in travel because the UCA sitting closer the droop stop at ride height.

My old truck. Droop stop located on the right hand side of the UCA in this picture. Very little down travel.

I don't think this is the same limiting factor in Tacomas though. Just a general idea from the other side.

The reason they say damage at full droop is the ball joints, cv joints, cv axles, the sway bar, and the control arms are not designed for the difference the spacers create between the upper shock mount and the control arms. If you add a spacer the upper control arm will hit the coil sooner. That is why when you get extended coil overs you get new upper control arms.

So then could you put a spacer if you have new uca's?

Yes, that is why we change upper control arms so we can put extended travel coil overs but either way it still changes the angle of ball joints, cv joints so you will need to address those too.

Edit: If you put too much distance between the upper shock mount and the control arms you will have to put longer cv axle shafts. That is called a long travel mod.

so the shock is what limits droop in our trucks and not some kind of limit on the A-arms like in treys silverado? when you seperate the spindle and UCA the lower control arm still stops, it cant fold all the way down

i dont understand how a spacer increases the distance between control arms?
