I go to Dolly Sods about twice a year.

I like to hammock camp and sleep in my cap as well from time to time but the wife's not much on roughing it so glamping it is most of the time

 

Camped out on Virginia Creek, CA. Had to take a short break and let the local ranchers drive stock through.

 

This was the second week I had my 3rd Gen and the first trip we took with it. This was just outside Caesars Creek in Ohio. I don't have a camper yet so we tent camp, or as my kids like to call it "caveman style"

 

Sweet setup! How much does your camper weigh and how is it pulling ?

Amf420 it weighs 2800lbs before gear so I'm figuring loaded around 3500lbs +/- . It does fairly well. On steeper grades I usually shift into 3rd cause it starts the up and down shifting crap that drives me nuts. But if you use the tranny it does fine. Runs 65 on interstate just fine. Fixing to head west for two weeks in October with it. Arizona and Utah

 

Headed up to Lake George NY later today with the camper . Bachelor party and car show for the weekend!

 

Just took a 4 dad/6 son camping trip. For some reason, my truck was the jungle gym for all the boys.

 

The box says 14 person, but after all the "ESSENTIAL" items of my wife and daughter, it's more like a cramped 6.

Beautiful. Off topic... How do you like the BFGs? I have read so many bad things here but have had great luck with them on jeeps.

 

Thank you! Honestly love them ... have had BFGs in the past but never the muds. Never going back haha ... these things are so amazing off road compared with the stock tires.

 

Last question.... do you have a link for those wheels? Are they FJ steelies?
