so i posted my Tacoma was totaled and eventually will be parting it out!i'm curious how you guys feel about them? I had put mine in about 3 years ago, before I pulled the trigger I had my concerns mainly if it would leak? because honestly in the past whenever someone put in a aftermarket sunroof 10 out of 10 they leaked! so first off I was assured and trusted technology that it wouldn't leak, secondly at the time I didn't see any tacomas with one(or any sunroof)so I wanted something different and lastly its so cool literally! from day there have been no issues including leaking!!! I will probably be parting this out soon! didn't take photo with ragtop slid open, my battery didn't survive! stay tune thx joey

I've always thought sliding rag tops were cool. I almost put one in my old Passat wagon. But like most people, I was worried about water leaks.

I have been contemplating getting a sliding ragtop for my 2nd gen, and yours is the first I've seen with one!

Do you know the size and brand of the top?
How much was the top installed?
Did you have to get a custom headliner(it looks like the dome light has been relocated from the pictures)?
How was the noise inside the cabin with it opened/closed?

Sorry for all the questions, but just looking for some more information to help me decide.

this electric sliding ragtop is made by webasto model # hollandia 400 the best quality bar none!! no cabin noise, no leaks! you use existing headliner, you relocate light where you want your preference. size is like 18x40 which is as close to being a convertible! push button and it will open all the way, push and hold you can adjust to desired setting, start and stop option. kit comes complete with all wiring, switches, rubber molding etc! paid about $1200 w/installation but that was because of connections, so expect to pay more! you will not be disappointed or have regrets but again do not use a cheap knockoff, do your research for quality and absolutely no issues get a webasto basically all stock sunroofs in most vehicles of the major car companies are mfg by webasto! by the way my Tacoma is just about finished, long story but truck had no frame damage so after replacing and repairing slowly but surely I just about got it completed

Thanks for all the information! I have also heard that Webasto is the only way to go for an aftermarket roof option. I like the large opening of the ragtop for open air driving (I believe this is also an option on the new JL wrangler).

Webasto use to make the 524 panoramic sunroof that I loved, but it is now discontinued.

Best of luck on getting your truck finished! If you ever have time to take and post a picture of it open that would be awesome. Once again, thanks for all your help!!!
