painting radiator

    smitty bulls bar procomp 3in lift westin nerf bars
    is it ok to paint aluminum radiator black. just finish my satoshi grille and just wanted to make sure that if painted black, will this affect the cooling system. any input or info will help. trying to hide all that aluminum. thanks

    My thinking is that the radiator's purpose is to dissapate heat and that paint would basically be an insulator and hold in more heat.

    Total speculation on my part.

    I painted mine. Just be sure to use high temperature BBQ grille paint. 1-2 quick coats and you should be good. The paint says it will smoke the first time it gets hot and not to worry. I have yet to see mine smoke, so I don't know just how hot they mean when they say hot. But even on road trips in 80 degree weather I haven't seen it yet.
