Bilstein 5100 w/ OME 885

Did you either get a trim packet or a 5mm spacer for the drivers side? I wasn't happy with the 1/2 off, noticeable when I would see my truck from one side or the other to me, used the toytech 5mm spacer on the drivers side and it's all better to me now

 

No I didn't.

 

You can add the 1/4 spacer which will fix the 1/2 inch difference and it's simple to put in , I think I got mine for $15. It's small enough that you don't need to get longer studs on the top of the shock plate

 

Anybody running the 5100 w/885's and medium ome Dakar and stock uca's,on if so what lift numbers did you get? ,I have a dcsb 4x4

 

I will be installing that combination tomorrow with the exception of installing LR UCA instead of stock. I will make sure to take measurements.

Toyojo that is a great kit. My kit started with that kit although I upped the leafs in the back to OME spring packs.

I saw your posts earlier in this thread and yes I spoke with marie ,what pack did you go with I was thinking of going with the medium pack I also have a topper on the back. What kind of numbers did you get with that set up

The 5100/885 combo gave me 4.5" DS and 4.25" PS. Definitely more than what I was hoping for. I've driven it almost 400 miles and it has been a week and a half and it hasn't settled any. The springs and shocks were assembled on the bottom notch by @HeadStrong Off-Road so I know they were assembled correctly. The sticker says 2885 but I suppose it is possible that they were mislabeled by OME at the time of packaging. I used the 1/4" spacer on the drivers side and I installed SPC adjustable UCA's on the E setting. Hopefully I will have a chance soon to look at it closer to try to figure out why it is so tall. Hub to fender is 24.25" on the drivers side, 24.5" on the passenger side and the starting measurements were 19.75" DS and 20.25" PS.

 

It just sounds like your OEM suspension was sagging bad. I started at 21" and after lift was around 24"

 

Possibly, the truck has 201K miles and 11 years old. Unfortunately there is very little clearance between the ball joint and the coil spring at this height. I also installed new Dakar leaf springs and the front is sitting a little taller than the rear....

 

I would double check the spring perch and check the setting, at least your not going to ruin you c.v. axles but you shouldn't be higher than the dakars by any means

 

It is on the bottom groove providing that there are only 4 of them. The spring perches look correct but I will double check to make sure that the coils were not installed upside down.

 

I almost went with 887 coils, good thing I didn't.

 

Anyone running 5100 on 2nd bottom notch...with 885's and 2" AAL

 

I'm sure somebody has but the general consensus is to leave them at the bottom, 0 notch. Too much preload on any of the other notches.
