Yes, I've been observing it all night during a 5PM to 6AM fish survey along the east River off Astoria, Queens.

No boat, lab in a construction trailer along the shoreline.

 

Interesting. Find any fish? My friends on the next boat over were pulling in some stripers at slack water.

 

We're getting a shitload of small bay anchovies, also some menhadens, pipefish, scups, sea robins, etc.; we use nets capturing fish exiting power plants, mostly catch small stuff. Last week we got a medium sized flounder and a really cool blue spotted cornet fish:

It's Horrendous up here in New England. There was actually an HBO special made about the problem on Cape Cod. We probably have about 5 ODs per week in the population that we monitor 24/7 on Probation.

 

I don't really know about the epidemic thing, but I do know our Dr's. are taking them serious. Some are requiring patients to do the whiz quiz to verify that the patients are not selling them.

I still have a bunch of Norco's left over from when I had my last knee replacement. I take a half every other month or so for other aches. I guard those things closely. I do worry what I will do when I run out. At the rate I'm going, I should be good for about 3 more years.

 

I'll have to look that up. I feel like it's getting to that point here. I think 12 in the past months. I could be wrong on that count though. At least one revived that morning, released and OD again the same night.

Some of the doctors here are cutting back significantly. It's hurting those that really need it.

 

Last year MA had 2107 deaths on track to surpass that number this year; it's so bad up here that all of the k9 officers have dog narcan. Colleges are handing out narcan kits. CVS practically giving it away. Big issues up here are fentanyl and carfentanyl.

The junkies are going into the hospital bathrooms and tieing the "call" string to their arm and shooting up to get revived and released.

 

It's pretty bad everywhere from what I read. People get overprescribed pain pills when they don't need them. Their insurance quits picking up the bill, or the doctors cut them off. They turn to a cheaper and better high in heroin.

 

Fentanyl is picking up here. One so far narcan wouldn't even work on. Also found people in bathrooms and parking deck. Especially sad when they've had kids with them.

The ODs are crazy here. Every neighborhood has it, no end in sight.

I've had many conversations with our local ups and Amazon drivers to just leave deliveries on our 3 season back porch because there's a strong possibility I'll be sleeping. however, today is trash day; so no sleep likely til prob noon or later unless they come early.
