my long bed is snug in the garage, but fits. Sometimes I like to back in. So, I measured one day and put blue painters tape on the floor so I could see on my camera where I need to stop. As soon as the red line thing on the camera screen hits the tape mark n the ground, I know I'm in perfect.

Exact same story here. Wife's VW in the garage while Im the king of my own driveway. It was 108 today in Bakersfield. It sucks for sure but,a short bed truck? Might as well get an SUV

You're doing it backwards. Back in so the steering end comes in last.
A small bump-out around the garage door, move the existing door to the front of the bump - long enough garage on the cheap.

A true truck needs its 6' in order to haul stuff. and everytime I have hauled furniture, That extra foot has gone a long way. No regrets on the long bed.

Yes I agree. A standard skip loader bucket is 6 feet long. If you wanted a yard of river rock to landscape your house with, you'd have pay the bulk yard to deliver it. If you had a short bed truck that is.
My previous truck was an F150. They called it a "standard box" but since it's a double cab it becomes a short bed at 5 and a half feet. My first truck bed that short. Also my first double cab or crew cab or whatever it's called. I had to trade it in. not just because of the short box but that was a factor.

Yes! Very relevant. This weekend I'm picking up 3 tons of 1/2" screened gravel. Of course, since Toyota has my truck on recall and I have their looongbed Tundra, I'm gonna abuse that beast.

I actually don't find many longbeds on the roads where I live in Central Calif. There are lots of tacomas but very few LBs
They recalled my differential but I insisted on driving my truck till the parts came in which it did and it fixed now
My dealer only offered crappy rentals

I had a hard time finding my '14 and this LB. Had to be white which probably helped. Someone posted somewhere on here it's like 10% of DC's are LB. Seems believable.

I didn't actually have to fight for the Tundra. They said they had two. I got lucky. I was afraid of getting a Corolla. Gas mileage blows tho.

When I had my house built about 20yrs ago the first thing I asked them to do was extend the garage to 30ft deep. I didn't want my car to sit out in the Texas heat and I didn't want to worry about it getting caught out in all the bad weather that rolls through. So glad I did that, my truck fits no problem at all. If I was really thinking I would have had them build it about 4ft wider......not much room at all on the sides. Oh well....next house!

I never put my SB in the garage in 12 years, why would I worry about putting my LB in the garage?

Paint on the SB is fine.

Garage is occupied with my other toys; sportscar, bikes (five) and tools.

I was planning to blame the mess in my garage on Irma. But my wife said no one would believe a hurricane could cause a mess that bad.

mine fits on one side of the 2 car garage, but the other side has 3' cut into it for a staircase that goes upstairs. i don't get to park the truck in the garage because my wife's van won't fit on the other side either, so she wins and gets to park inside.

I never could fit my truck in the garage at our last house, so when we built our new house, I made sure that the garage was big enough for a full size truck. Now that I have a Tacoma (DCSB since I couldn't get a LB in manual), the garage just swallows it up. And the full size truck truck now lives outside..

My DCLB fits. I didn't even measure to make sure it did before buying it. I knew I wanted the long bed because i didnt think the short bed would be enough for hauling a large ATV or sheets of drywall, etc. The short bed just looked funny when looking at it cosmetically.

DCLB fits perfectly even with a storage shelf in front of the garage bay.

That's true. The double cab short bed trucks look kinda stupid. Like a big dog with his tail cropped

Funny thing is most of us as homeowners use the garage as an storage for a lot of stuff that realistically should be placed on the attic or give away. We tend to buy and store a lot of things that after awhile we barely use. (if you don't believe me, just try and move to a new location, and see how much of that stuff we are willing to keep with us)... Maybe most of the time we don't have a garage size problem... we tend to have too much stuff (shhhh, don't tell my wife)....

With California's weather you won't have any problem with paint/upholstery. But an aircraft hangar sounds fine to me (or something like Jay Leno's garage(s) will fit my expectations...)

New Mexico is similar. Albuquerque rarely gets hail of any size. BMW in garage.
