Truck won't track straight after lift

    2008 Tacoma 4x4 double cab
    I'm currently running 5100s on my dcsb set at 2.5" and love the look but I'm not sold on the ride. I also switched to 285s after the lift so obviously the handling is going to be altered some. I've noticed though a lot of times I have a steering wheel shake and the truck itself just doesn't seem to track straight like it did previously. I'm curious if I need to swap out the stock coils for some ome or just get it re aligned and see if that helps?? Any help is appreciated!

    When does the steering wheel shake? At speed on the highway? Turning corners? Going over bumps?

    Do you have the print out from your last alignment? This I can tell about the track.

    most definitely get it aligned after installing a lift. Then go from there.

    Swapping out coils will give you smoother ride, but may not fix your problem at hand.

    Oh and, did you get an alignment after the lift installation?

    I had it aligned after the lift was on but not sure if it was done correctly, I don't have the alignment sheet to tell. It seems to shake most between 45-55 mph on relatively straight roads. I've read road force balancing might do the trick but that doesn't really explain why I only feel it some of the time.

    I would start with a wheel balance. A weight may have been knocked off the wheel at some point, and now it's out of balance. Once that's done correctly, then let's take a look at your alignment if the issue persists. Make sure everything up front is torqued to spec to eliminate any suspected issues as well.

    Stock UCAs with that much lift will make it hard to get properly aligned. Also, for a better ride you want the 5100s set to 0 and get the right aftermarket coils to provide the lift...stock coils with maxed out 5100s makes for a very harsh ride.

    I'm not too familiar with 2nd gen OME coils but I think OME 887s are good for about 3" of lift

    how do you like the spc uca's? Also curious if getting a full ome leaf pack is worth the money or if a progressive aal will be fine. Im at 130k on the current leaf pack..

    You'll never get close to the 3* of caster you need with stock uca's,so going back for another alignment would just be a waste of time and money.I've also been there and done this...
