Yesterday I was in the office from 6:30AM-5:30PM and then was on a 2 hour conference call with our Asia offices that started at 10PM.
Back at it at 6:30 this morning.

    Yeah....
Empty I've actually been averaging around 21-22.
It made me glad I hadn't opted for a Tundra, I suppose. The truck monitors distance traveled with the trailer connected, and apparently I've put almost 2000 miles on it this summer. :notsure:

Yessir did the ECGS about 15k miles ago right before putting the lift in

Ah alright - I need to do the fluids eventually anyways. I just did a drain and refill of the trans pan but I'll do the diffs and then take her to the dealer for the full trans flush at a later day.

Sprayed some PB Blaster on the lower intermediate shaft for the steering assembly - aka the yoke I think its called? - and drove it to work. It definitely feels better so I'll keep spraying it and hope that it's just mud. The fluid is still topped off and looking fine. I know before I went wheeling it was lower than the low line so I topped it off. Not sure where the fluid was going because the whole rack looks dry and fine.

Wow. I think I only have 3500 miles towing the camper so far and I'm wrapping up season #2! I'll put on probably another 6-700 miles towing this fall though. 2 more camping trips planned.

Yeah, I've done a lot of fishing and boating this summer, haha! The GF and I have been out in it about every weekend, and I've been fishing before/after work a lot of times too. My yard work and household chores schedule have suffered this summer as a result. :anonymous:

Not a bad thing at all! Mine has been the opposite. I've been doing a ton of work on my yard over the last month or so, it looks completely different. I added retaining walls, fencing, a shed, reworked a fence I had installed a few years ago, swing set and now I have to regrade and seed it before it really gets cold out. And, of course, I didn't get the helper springs until I was done hauling all the heavy stuff...

My lawn has spent most of the summer very shaggy, and the garden is out of control, lol.

I don't think I'd notice a financial difference with a Tundra. I can run a Tundra on 87, but my Tacoma is a pig on anything less than 91. I figure the difference in the cost of the fuel will offset the lower MPG.

I may revisit Fords in the spring. I think I'd be paying more for a Lariat Supercab than for a Limited double cab Tundra. I also hate playing dealership games. I have connections at the Toyota dealer, so I talk to my guy there and he comes back right away with a price below invoice. No nonsense.

True, fuel use isn't the only factor with a vehicle, especially a truck, but as my DD it's definitely important. Averaging 15-17 with a Tundra (the most common readings on Fuelly) vs 20-22 with the F150 adds up. :notsure:

Dealership games are a big part of how I ended up in the Ford, actually. The Toyota dealer wasn't willing to budge on their pricing for a new rig, or on what they'd give me for a trade, so I ended up walking out on them.

I think that their attitude was that they'd sell that Tacoma with or without me, so I should just pay sticker price, get bent over on my trade, and be happy about it, lol.

So is anyone here interested in picking up a stock steely for their spare? I'll have 3 to get rid of.

I picked up a set of 4 painted steel wheels, which I'll swap on once I touch them up. Then I'll paint one of my current steelies to match and put it on the spare. At that point I'll have 3 stock steelies and one spare tire wheel to get rid of on the cheap.

Read above ^^^. Better gas mileage is great but what you save now you'll most likely loss later. Crazy how the Toy's hold there value

Side note. How are you making out getting your windshield and headliner fixed?
