Went to court yesterday. Failed. Lol seems like they didn't want me to show or say anything that didn't pertain to that day in question. So.....what was the point? Lucky the judge was nice, cut my fine from 1400 to 500 but I did have fun! It was pretty exciting, it was me representing myself vs the city attorney which I didn't even know that was going to happen. Just thought it was me vs the health inspector .
I did express my anger/frustration to the judge, she said for me to call the health department and "file a complaint " ok....gues I'm doing that today

I feel like the City of Houston has bigger fish to fry than going after someone on minor health infractions.

Pearland. Ah but yes they should have better things to do. The attorney didn't even have real questions to ask the health inspector. One of which was, do you see the store owner in this room? Can you identify and describe what he looks like? That cracked me up.

Yeah like raising everyone's property tax 9% to screw everyone over just cause they didn't try to prevent flooding years ago

 

Lol. Everyone is so upset about it. If you did the math it averages out to an extra $100 a year. Not that much considering the federal government would figure out a way to raise our taxes worse.

They want to raise the tax rate by ~9%, not to ~9%.

 

Well I would be upset if I've lost my home already and in the hole, and now have to pay more taxes.....

You seem to be ok with paying more taxes. I've never met anyone who was ok with paying more taxes before.... lol

 

Hey, they could be doing Austin's shenanigans. The county has been raising property values while proudly proclaiming that there hasn't been a tax increase - but by making our home values more expensive they still collect more revenue. So now you're telling me that my $230K house is $350K? What the shit?

Now that they've been getting away with it for 4 years straight by only raising values 10% per year, the city announces a tax increase.
