Again, even if it is easy to do, sawing through a club/wheel makes noise and takes 15sec, which is plenty of time to run outside and bitchslap. Thefts are happening at night.
I had issues with someone stealing gas in my area and stupidly put a gas cap lock on my Gen 1 to thwart the thief- well, he drilled my cap and then the gas tank!
All those YouTube videos people caught fire just pumping their gas. This dude drilling gasoline shit and still haven't get charred. I would get my phone, bait his ass in and ready for an epic viral YouTube video

They don't saw through the club, just through the softer steering wheel and then slide the club off when they bend the opening. 5-seconds max

If you run outside after hearing the sawing action, and you go to get said thief in a choke hold...what happens if said thief blocks it with his left forearm. What is your next course of action?

OP....just make sure the obvious stuff is being done (I'm sure it is). Lock it, if possible park it in your driveway as close to the house as you can and have a lot of outdoor lighting. Thieves don't much care for being seen.

Also...place some cameras on the house, real or fake, that have a flashing light of some sort on them....that is easily seen at night

I'd suggest a good insurance policy with rental coverage

Plenty of vehicles have been stolen while the owner is asleep in the house or watching tv or even cooking dinner

Like someone said, snatch truck and a bit of practice and your truck can be pulled down the street faster than you can get outside

The driveway alert is cool- dog knows it means someone is outside and barks to it too now. Try it! I think a person who sees it's blinking when they are walking up your drive pretty much knows they lost the sneak attack edge and are probably being watched. $15 is worth it, sometimes on sale at HF for less than $10 and your 20% coupon.

My Benz was stolen from a beach parking lot(crowded by the way) by a tow truck. After experiencing that I just lock my doors to keep the honest people honest and pay my insurance.

Since nobody has posted it yet... I feel a good idea for theft deterrent would be to install a switch (hidden of course) to the efi fuse. That way even if they defeat the rest of the anti theft systems and get the truck to turn over (something I imagine they aren't going to want to do for long due to the noise) the fuel pump wont work and it'll never run.

What about all these stunt gun inventions with the probes installed in the seats. If it's activated other than the person with the key it will zap his ass into submission. No bloodshed other than a screaming ninja which is not a bad alarm in itself

    yep..
My mother and grandmother are from South Africa. A handful of our relatives/friends have been hijacked and beat up at stop signs, intersections. When we visited there, we would always keep the windows cracked (supposedly helps to keep from breaking), doors locked, and roll through stops when possible. I like this option the best though.

I recently moved in a much nicer neighborhood than the one I was in before, but no sooner did we move in when we got an email from the local neighborhood forum saying there was a string of catalytic converter thefts in the town. I have to either park in the street or in our driveway, so I worry about that with my truck since it's lifted and easy to crawl under.

Gave me the perfect excuse though to get the aftermarket full-underbody steel skid plates I've been wanting for awhile :D Picked up a Budbilt set a couple weeks back. Would be pretty hilarious if a thief tried to remove them to get to the cats and dropped 60lbs of steel on his face. Of course, being in California I'd probably end up getting sued for it...
