    How long have you had them on like that? Any issues with them vibrating loose or anything?

    Ugh.

    Found out why my ABS light is on -

    [IMG]

    Apparently a bad wheel bearing can damage a wheel speed sensor.

    I ordered an aftermarket replacement offa Amazon since the OEM ones are 150+$. Hopefully it works until I can find a working OEM one for a reasonable price.

    Dang! I know the tone wheel is on the wheel bearing, I thought that could be messing up your ABS. Never would've thought that it could damage the sensor. Let us know how the off brand works. And show us that wheel bearing when you take it off.

    It's been about 6-7 months with the carriage bolts, no issues with vibrating loose.
    So far there have been only two real down sides to this that I have seen;
    1) I wasn't careful when tightening the nut on the inside of the fender and applied a little bit of side load on a few of the bolts. This resulted in a few dents ( I could easily pull the dents back out, but they don't bother me enough to make the effort).
    2) I have no fender flares. You don't know how much the fender flares do for you until you don't have them. Aside from the mud / dirt / sand that gets flung up high, I've also kicked fairly large debris (rocks, branches etc...) up. As a result I have a new dent on my driver side fender, and (believe it or not) a new dent on my passenger side A pillar.

    All that being said, I treat my truck like a truck and don't mind a little trail damage. I'm very much into the "rugged" look and really enjoy the look of this truck without the flares with the bolts.

    I am however still considering getting a set of bushwackers and modifying them slightly. I saw a picture from another member on here that trimmed off about an inch from the flares to fit an over-sized tire and it looked great. They're just a little too pricey for me at the moment (especially since I plan on hacking them up straight out of the box)

    Good to know! I hadn't considered the flares to be that big of a protective measure but now that you mention it, it only makes sense they would be. I like the way the bolts look and have been wanting to trim for 35's but those open holes would be annoying to see.

    Have you seen the trimmed bushwackers on the Pelfreybilt rig? Looks good and functional IMO. I think that's what I may end up doing.

    That's exactly what mine did. Minus the ABS light. Same noises to the tee. I got a new Timken bearing and hub in it now. Smooth and quiet again. I had customers come in for a ABS light ON because of a bad wheel bearing. New bearing solved the problem. I've found metal shaving from the ball bearing's clogging up there sensors in them.

    The metal shavings make sense since its magnetic. Im betting a chunk of something hit it while rotating and that was that.

    Shall do. Everything should be here Saturday. Ill take some pics. Im hoping the aftermarket wheel speed sensor works as Id rather not drop 200$ on an OEM sensor.

    Devil Dog...I just went that route...more pics and the process on my thread (Last few pages). I drilled holes for the bushwhackers btw. Their mounting process is lame. No vibes and solid with proper hardware.. Let me know if you need any advice...:thumbsup:
