Those new tails aren't plug and play?

What about that third brake light? I've been absent from forums lately so haven't been able to keep up

If you had to choose one (considering they worked correctly) which taillight would you go with? Getting ready to order. The white bit on your new lights might look weird on my pyrite mica truck. I can't decide.

P0022 just came up for me as well, and I have 100,000 miles on my 2006. Brought it to Toyota and they told me the OCV's were fine and that I should pay them $700 to tear it down just to check if it's the timing chain... and if it is timing chain it could cost me $2,000 more

I am dropping it off at my normal mechanic tomorrow to give me a second opinion.

What was the end result with your Tacoma?

Fleabay. Not sure if this is the same seller but brand is the same. Housing is chrome, lens is smoke.

Your scaring me! HA. After a few clears of the ecu they stopped coming up. We even went on a 1000 mile trip to moab and no issue. But just yesterday it went off again. If its intermittent I wonder if the dealer did not see the issue. I guess a few hundred bucks for OCV's would be a good investment before spending the time and money to do the chain.

It came up for me a few months ago and I cleared it and ignored it. Within the past few weeks it came up again and I did notice my truck was running rough at idle. It also felt like it was loosing power at certain RPM's, and even worse would lose all power momentarily when hitting bumps, but it's been doing that for over a year now.

From what I gather though it won't damage the engine too much if one of the OCV's are in fact stuck since the valves are non-intrusive and won't crash into each-other or the piston. A few posts on here debate that but I'm just wishful thinking.

I think Toyota never actually checked the valves themselves or the OCV filter since theirs no way they pulled the alternator off and checked it within the 3 hours they had it. From what I read on here they just hook it up to a scan tool, check the valves digitally, and their flow-chart then tells them to open the engine and check the timing chain.

I dropped it off at my regular mechanic and I'm going to see what he says.

They are easy to test. You pull them and hook them up to power to see if they moving. But from my experience of being a long time shade tree mechanic that if the problem is intermittent than they can test good but still be failing. Im going to replace both of mine here soon and hope it fixes the issue.
