Quick info on ARD's, if you are hunting, they are a very useful device to keep from glitsing light off of the glass on the front of a scope and giving yourself away. For room sweeping type scopes
(Home defense). ARD's are completely useless. With that said you will find a lot hi end scope manufacturers offer sunshades over ARD flash hiders because ADR's do take away from the light saturation and clarity viewing through long distance viewing scopes. On the Trigicon you have there, unless if you're going to be "animal" hunting at 100,200 & 300 yards, the ARD is not necessary, "but they do look cool"

    ARD
    (Anti-reflective device)

Ugh my handgaurd (Hera 12" M-Lok) is delivered tomorrow, then it's going to be a week at least before I can get it and shoot it. The wait is murder.

Good things take time haha! I know how you feel. I'm slowly building a AR9 pistol and I'm so sick of not being able to shoot it.

You and me both! It's like you are building the same guns as me but about a few months ahead! I just bought my AR9 stripped lower but need to either build an upper or buy one. I might use a complete ghost firearms so I dont have to cut the handguard down

Right on, yeah I still haven't heard from them about that. It's weird. Not sure is Spinta's barrels are made bigger or Ghost makes their hand guard specific to their barrels or what. Are 9mm barrels bigger? I wouldn't see why they would be since they are designed to be used on AR15s.

Still cool I got it to work though. Hand guard looks solid and is pretty light. I like that is has M-lok slots.

It's definitely a lot easier to just buy an upper that's already set up, but building one is sweet cause you get to make it exactly how you want it, but it cost more. Those Ghost complete upper looks pretty sweet. You going for the 7.5? Looks like they have a 1:10 twist.

Yea I was thinking of building it the way I want but you are right its a lot cheaper to buy a complete upper than build one. I was looking at their 7.5 inch upper probably in black and then cerakote the whole thing.

I'm not sure this type of "AR" is allowed in this thread but I've been looking or researching the M&P 15-22. Being my first AR type rifle I think a .22 version would be easier to learn and cheaper to shoot. Does anyone have one of these?

Gotcha. Forgive me but I know absolutely nothing about these types of rifles. Being a .22 but I'm assuming AR "frame", can these be upgraded or have the same accessories as the other bigger .223 models?

They are fully functioning AR platform style rifles. Pretty much any external accessory can be swapped

You can also just buy a full on AR and get a kit to convert it to 22. It's just a different bolt and a magazine. Then you got two rifles in one and when you're ready to move up to 556, just swap out the bolts. Just a thought. Cool thing about AR is that they are modular.

Better to ask what I have not done.
Speaking of, the cmng or what ever conversion, is it any good, how accurate is it?

Most people sell them because they arent worth anything. Building a 22 upper would be a better idea.

I already have a dedicated AR22 in the work for a pistol and I would recommend that if you do just build an upper that you have a super hard trigger in there. I was reading that a RRA Varmint trigger broke and the guy was SOL because it wasnt designed for blow back guns. So use a cheap mil-spec trigger or risk a super expensive one.

The ones I've played with work pretty darn good but you do put a lot of lead in the rifling and have to clean it out
