Takes maybe 3 minutes to do. I put mine in with the lift kit and never have had any vibes

    Absolutely worth it

Shims should only be used to help correct axle angles.

Do I need a rack or any thing to lift the truck up to do it?

For just a 1" lift? This is the angle. Looks pretty normal to me.

Just a creeper. With my rear lift setup and spare relocated to the bed, I can sit Indian style under the truck without a jack or jackstands

Just a few degrees off can give you driveline vibe. My point was that if you have zero vibes and just want to lift the rear, that adding an axle shim could actually give you vibes.

So how do I install the carrier bearing. And also the shims? I put 1" block is there a specific way to install them? They do not appear to have an angle. Do I need to do shims in addition?

I found the carrier bearing drop kit. How far do I have to drop it?

These were straight shims. Not used for angle correction. Similar to a block except these bolt into your leaf pack.

To the naked eye it looks like my driveshaft is straight. How much does it need to be dropped to eliminate vibs?

Also I want to reminder stress that the vib is only right when I'm starting out about at 5 mph for half a second and it goes away. Is that something that can be fixed with the carrier dropped? I want to fix it but I want to make sure that I'm fixing it the right way.

When the TSB came our for leaf springs I installed heavy duty springs. If I remember correctly Toyota springs are rated for 1200 lbs. The HD leaf pack is rated for 1600 lbs. So now my Tacoma is raised in the rear and I am looking to level-out the stance and add roughly 2" to the front. Thinking 5100's are the way to go

Most people with bigger lift also use angle shims on the rear, I think I have 3 degree shims with my 3 inch rear lift, it still has vibes at launch. Didnt have any with my 1.5" AAL I had on before this leaf pack. My last truck which was a 13', had them at factory ride height, more when I lifted it, and the carrier bearing drop helped, I also got the old man emu one you posted above(3rd one down)
