Ok, gonna feed the trolls today I guess.

Can you cite your sources for all this danger you've seen related to what I did, news articles, or whatever, or is it all anecdotal?

And since we are arguing on the internet, here's a gif representing how I feel.

Ya, I typed two different comments yesterday, but never posted them because I decided not to feed the troll.

So this truck plate just clips into the bedrail, and then you mount that lock on the plate itself? Thats cool, I dont know that ill need it but i may get it just in case.

    Legit question:

Given you have a bed cover, are you at all concerned about vapor build up with a full tank like that mounted in bed?

It seems like a prime candidate for static discharge + vapor in bed + oxygen in rush = fireball when the bed could be opened?

I also don't know much about that tank so I'm not sure if any vapor escapes. I'm just spitballing possibilities.

Everything is flammable when covered in gas. I don't see the issue.

Yeah the plate goes onto the rail and mount goes on the plate. Not sure if I ever need it either lol. But good to have when I go off-roading or camping. Other than that I'll leave it empty or maybe even in the garage.

TBH that's actually a pretty stout mount... metal obviously would be better but this would hold up to all but a pretty severe accident. As long as that paint is exterior grade, this is miles better than some $5 gas can sliding around loose in the bed.

Like the one I often have held with only a bungee cord..... how dare I fill my tank of gas for my lawn mower with no metal mounting bracket.

Having now had it back there on a couple ~100 degree days, and not even smelling a hint of gas, I'm not too worried about it.

That container doesn't seem to even leak fumes. One day I might put it in the cab for an hour, just to test, but it seems VERY air tight.

    FWIW
