Making a left turn at rush hour. Had what felt like a good 3 or 4 second delay with traffic coming at me. I did punch it a bit...didn't think I had hit gas petal that hard. I have read others have experienced this. Guess it was my turn. Does shift sense or some other item help with this ?

I actually just had this happen a few weeks ago. I turned out of a parking lot, hit the gas because cars were bearing down on me, and the truck just wouldn't go for a bit. It was the first and only time I've experienced it.

It was kind of scary. lol

I've never experienced it before the other week, in my almost 17 years of driving.

You've driven a manual right, or even a quality CVT. I experience it on a daily basis, not just with my 07. Even in my 17 Lariat 3.5 ecoboost it's an issue.

The drive by wire throttle has something to do with it too I reckon. Never felt the delay on older automatics with mechanical throttle cable.

I've driven a CVT and know the delay you're referring to. It wasn't like that. This was full on, after a turn, I couldn't get the truck to move when I punched the gas. I was like, OMG wtf is going on, MOVE!...as cars were bearing down on me.

So, software or mechanical problem you suspect?

I honestly have no clue. Like I said, I've never experience this before or since. lol

When you step on it do you see revs increase or sit stagnant. I'm just guessing but if stagnant, software, if increasing but not moving, mechanical, or just how it works.

The RPM's reved, the truck just wouldn't go. And this wasn't from a stop, as I had just completed the turn out of the lot. I pulled out, then hit the gas harder as cars were coming, and it just wouldn't go. Then suddenly, it went. lol

My truck does something similar when I floor it, happened today. Was at a red light, turned green and I punched it so the person next to me didn't cut in front. Accelerated to 5k rpm, lots of engine noise, barely any faster than normal. "Normal operating characteristic" of the 2.7 apparently.:rofl::rofl:

That may very well be it on my end. One of the back wheels kind of hopped/slipped as I went off a bit of the curb, and I hit the gas right after.

This sounds like the actual issue to me. My Lexus IS350 is the exact same way when you "over" throttle it and the nanny devices kick in. You push and push and get nothing in return.

I've had this when I did did a piss poor job of driving a MT - bogged down, didn't time right etc.. I have done this every MT I've owned - driver mistake. Easy to fix, re-engage clutch and off to the races :bikewheelie2:

It happened to me once. I think its a Russian thing. I'm sure Toyota would say this is normal.
