Depending on the tube size they make metal/stainless fittings like that for boat top.
Search bimini top hardware. Should find something useful.

Yeah, the whole "he took out his entire front end" and "ripped my tire, how do I jack it up on sand" were two major reason I bought my skid plate and sliders. Unfortunately, PINS is also the reason I had to have my steering intermediate shaft replaced...

My off Saturdays are the 23rd of this month and 7, and 21 of October. I can take off one of the others too as I have time to burn.

    Hello Austin Chapter,

Pardon my intrusion. I thought this would be the place to ask about hidden falls park. I'm not an off road expert by any means but I like to get off pavement as much as the next guy. A while ago I lived up in Alaska, so I know how to slide all over the place and go in a large ditch and stuff. When I bought a new 17 I took it to Big Bend and went all over (that was nice nothing too extreme). How is this park? I see they rate trails up to 5 levels. Since I just have my little ole standard off road (don't have a lift or anything) should I keep to 3 and 4 level? Don't want to get stupid. Just need off the pavement and have some fun. Since this park isn't 8 hours away I thought I might give it a go. Any advice would be appreciated.

Not sure a Gremlin is going to do very well at HF. Definitely stick to the pavement.

First thing to note - the trails aren't well marked, if they're marked at all.

As far as their level rating - take it as levels for something like...a tubed-out buggy. Park roads can quickly turn into washed out sections. Level 3 trails can be easy one week, and impassible with under 35's after a rain.

That being said, its a fun park. If you're experienced and have the eye for picking a good line, you're alright. Or, if you don't mind stacking rocks, its fun for semi-stock rigs. I haven't been out in the 4Runner, but went out in a stock 91 Nissan D21 pickup with open diffs that I didn't mind damaging...and had a blast.

Stick to 1s and 2s. However, as mentioned, rain and people frequenting the park will quickly turn a 2 into a 4, etc. if it gets too hairy, just turn around. I was out there a few weekends ago with my buddy who has a well put together Xterra and we were able to tackle some 4s. This is with me spotting and riding along, I’m not about to take my truck through the tough stuff. Definitely plenty to do with a mild build.

It's my Thursday, but that's OK because I'm on day 5 and already well into the overtime, so life is good (or at least it will be in 3 weeks when I get this check)
