    Debadged the tailgate today. Instructions were great, used a hairdryer, fishing line, Goo Gone and Turtle Wax bug and tar remover. I was afraid there'd by outlines since they've been on since '06 but that bug and tar remover worked like a champ.

    Looks great, nice and clean.

    Here's an update since I posted my results on post #242. I have a faint shadow in the paint where the badges were and is viewable in strong direct sunlight.

    I'm leaving them off for now since it's not glaringly obvious.

    I just tried this last night... Did not go so well... The side ones were cake, the rear, not so much. I figure that my truck was wrecked and I didn't know about it because the stuff holding the rear emblems on is not the same as the "double sided felt". It is more or less a "glue" that has become brittle and will not come off. I try and razor it off and it takes paint off with it, like it has fused with the paint. I figure I am going to have to sand it off and repaint those areas. Damn it all...

    just debadged mine... used a putty knife... had no problems. but getting the glue off the truck was a mofo! my friend assisted who paints graphics on trucks, bikes, etc, and hes debadged plenty for customers, so kudos to him!

    I cant seem to find any "Adhesive Promoter." Both my local Home Depots, Menards, etc. havent even heard of it. Would a Plastic Primer do the trick? Ive got the Plastic Gloss Black spraypaint which says it doesnt need a primer, but I want it done right the first time!

    Thoughts?

    You can pick that stuff up at the local auto parts store. It's made by Dupli-Color. Comes in a red can with a clear lid. Called Adhesion Promoter, picked it up at O'Reilly's auto parts couple weeks ago.

    I liked the look without badges, I like the look with blacked out badges better.
    Black on white is full of win lol. I also repainted my XRunner lower valance.
