Whats going on with my brakes?

Tw my brakes are all jacked up,
My pedal was traveling super far almost to the floor so i brought the truck to toyota. They checked and said my brakes were out of adjustment so i had them fix'm. Anyways, driving home brakes felt fine but now, one week later, they are doing the same shit again. WTF!!! I need to take them back to toyota but does anyone have any idea what this could be?

It sounds like you're getting air in the system.

 

Brakes are at 90%. I dont see any leaks and my brake fluid is full. ABS system also seems to be ok. Plus, toyota dealer didnt see any leaks either.

 

Could be a bad brake booster. Check the vacuum check valve that it's not clogged.

Guess I should of asked if you have VSC, if you do then it's hydraulic, and won't have a check valve. you would need a guage to check the pressure, and it looks like a long process on TIS.

 

What i dont understand is why when the dealer "adjusted" the rear brakes everything was fine, and now all of a sudden it's not? Is there a possibility that the adjustment mechanism on my brakes is broken?

 

It could also be as simple as air in the brake lines, and you just need to have them bleed the brakes. I'm not totally sure on your truck, but the booster push rod could be out of alignment. Could be as involved as a worn or damaged piston or seal in the booster/master cylinder.

 

This sucks, i can't even drive my truck. Well, i guess ill have to see what toyota says. Wish me luck.

 

I am going to ask silly question that was not ask here but....
you have 06 and you did not state how many miles but regardless when and if you had replaced your brake fluid. 4 year old car (could be 5 if purchased in 05 as 06 model) usually needs brake fluid replacement.

 

This is where I'd be looking too.

 

If it were the brake booster, the brakes would be hard not spungey. It's not the master cylinder because pumping the brakes has no effect on them. I cound maybe air in the line, or a leak somewhere. I'm going to ask toyota to do this today since they are replacing my exhaust manifold anyway.
