    This is also a cool tool for cutting beams:
    https://www.makitatools.com/products/details/5402NA
    16 5/16" saw! :eek:
    I had wanted to get one for about a year, never bought it, its just so large and I would never get around to use it to build a timber-frame.

    I just got my electric bill for the period after I installed solar screens on all my window. It dropped $50 for the month of August. Thats a good sign. My $350 investment will pay itself off quickly.

    My favourite circular saw size is my 10" Makita , the 16" is good when you need the capacity but is a little cumbersome to use

    We got up to the glulam rafters by end of day , just need to put the shorty's in between the rafters on Monday morning

    Below our ground at the bottom of firebox will be a 3 1/8" x 14" glulam bench (same size as rafters) that comes out of the wall on the right , goes just beyond the room fresh air intake under the firebox on the left and turns a 90 into the floor . The t&g decking will continue to the floor to the left of that , and under the bench will be a woodbox backed with the same porcelain as the chimney

    You can see the concept now how the roof decking turns from the ceiling and runs down the wall to the floor , and that effect runs from inside , through to the outside wing wall you can see through the window

    Yep, that's one thing you would only find down south. That would freeze in a heartbeat up here in the north.

    I just replaced mine a couple weeks ago with a tankless gas and cleaned up some of the excess plumbing.

    The quartz was installed today on the bathroom vanity counter, shower threshold, niche and window sill and the kitchen pantry (granite). One step closer to being done...

    @916carl looking good! :thumbsup:

    Two quick questions.
    1. Are these shelves in backwards?
    2. Are these pineapple handles? (if so they are awesome!)

    Yes. Flip shelf around. Other edge should be banded.

    Looks like pineapples. Also looks like a bug.
