Only down side is that is not spring loaded to hold it open when using your winch. I just adjust the nuts a little tighter to give it some resistance

Most definitely. Don't want to be stuck out of nowhere if ABS sensors get damage. I heard of these horror stories before. People's truck just get crippled once sensor is damage ;-(

Not sure how much I like them, except that they do keep my neighbors sprinkler water out if I forget to close the window fully and he's watering his stupid crab grass lawn at 1:00 AM. I will also use them to keep the windows down a bit when it's hot outside.

On the fence with them myself. If I feel there is a need, later, I am going to order. I want to compare AVS, to Weather Tech, etc., before I purchase.

IMG_0789.PNG.jpg Front receiver hitch add on metal tube step- may help keep my stock plastic bumper and plate holder safer from cars (sedans only, really ) doing slow front end parking lot hits - give the cost of replacing Toyota Plastic, any protective measures I do can help! ... Yay or Nay?

It's a GoRhino tube step design to go into a 2 inch receiver hitch. I have a CURT front end hitch receiver mounted in front of my truck in order to use a winch at times, and to steer my trailer around tight corners when I'm parking it. When in use as a step, I would take this off and put it on my back receiver to be able to tiedown things on top of my tall ARE MX shell, and will keep it mounted to the front of the truck to store it when not in use as a step.

I guess I could also use it as a light mount thats removable when not in use off-road....

Yeah, mine are AVS- will review them after a few weeks of trying them out on Amazon.

To each, their own. I wouldn't do it, personally. I've had all kinds of aftermarket bumpers attached over the years. I think it messes up your airbag deployment system....dangerous. If you're trying to really protect the whole front end of the truck, I would do something like a push bar or bull bar. Again, that's just my feeling on it.

I have the AVS guards on mine and also had them on my 2nd gen. No complaints and they work as advertised.

Hung out @Mobtown Offroad for a while getting some measurements for bed rack. Joe has got a killer design to fit over my softopper, going to be sick!! I also broke down and ordered my suspension. Steven @ was great to work with. Going with King 2.5s front and rear with compression adjuster, also got the Wheeler's 8 leaf spring set. Pretty excited for it.

I have had my avs installed 1.5 years and I really like them. They do carry wind noise just like all the rest. They function great on hot and rainy days.

I didn't think about the airbag sensors- will look into that for sure, thanks. It's not really a bumper bar, it's strong and all but is removable because it's plugged into my front end hitch receiver. Will have to search where the front air bag sensors are- thanks for the heads up!
