to answer your Q's mY FJ was a 2014 UTTE and only 2500 were made ( it is a Special color no white top and Grill is different and front skid is too the Pro took all these parts and use them now ) so it will have the highest resale of any FJ out there the Dealers don't like to pay for our add on's mine was stock when I trade it in and only had 36k miles first I took it to Carmax and got my Quote they offered 32k and with that info I went to Big two Toyota in Chandler
I was looking for a SR5 but they could not find the one I wanted so they showed me a TRD Sport 4X4 I don't know if they were just wanted to sell there trucks because they had a bunch of them in the back I told them I only had so much time and didn't want to go back and forth so they had one time to get there offer right on the truck and trade in I also had the Carmax paper Quote on the FJ plus one had just sold in Mesa about a month before and I just happen to take a pic of the truck with a sticker price of 37500 it did have only 22k on it so they same back with a BS offer for the FJ and I walked out buy the time I got to the truck they followed me and I handed them the carmax offer and a pic of the other FJ and told them to beat it there was a lot of BS from them in the end I got the truck but they did take there time with the paper work I don't know if that counts as a Good deal but I hope it helps

I got a recent quote from one of the dealers in Northern Virginia.
Sport DCSB Automatic Transmission (No Extras)

    $33,634 (vehicle cost) +
    TAX+TAGS+ Processing Fee
    = $35,832 (OTD).

Wise to Pull the Trigger or wait for 2018 to arrive?

OTD is useless to most of us because we don't know what the tax, title, and license fees (ttl) are. They are different for everyone. What was the price before TTL? 36ish?

Should be around $32k -$33k. Don't know if a long bed should cost more compared to a short bed.

But before you purchase, check with John at Freeman Toyota, it's about 2.5 hours from Salinas. They have great prices there.

A truck with an MSRP of $41k should go for $32-33k? Are you sure about that? That's like a 20% discount. I thought around 8-10% was the norm on these?

TRD Sport, 4x4 Double Cab LB with tech, premium, nav and apparently no JBL is more like 36k or 37k. The sport is the same cost as an off road so you can compare them. From the equipment list it appears to have premium, tech, and navigation.

Also got mine from John at Freeman Toyota. They don't haggle. Their internet lowest price will be the lowest price you find in CA.

MSRP on mine was 37.1, one email and they offered it for 33.0 +TTL.

$41k is not their price. You can request their "Internet Price" which should be lower. Yes if it has Tech Pkg, it will be about $2k more.

Been roaming around TW for a bit and I finally picked up my 2017 TRD sport 4x4 MT with Prem/tech package and TRD pro grill. Paid $33,300 before TTL.

Currently looking at a 2017 TRDOR 4x4 DC/LB, Tech package, roof rack, trd filter, front skid plate, tow package. MSRP 40,760 and they're asking 36,880 before TT.

How much lower should I shoot for?

Thanks to everyone for posting, very helpful in negotiating deal. Just pulled the trigger end of August on 2017 TRD DC ORSB, premium entune, all weater mats, door guards, had been getting dealer quotes since May and convinced I wasnt going to do much better.

    New truck $33K, excluding TTR

    My trade 2012 DCSB SR5 4x4 with 13K miles
    Bought May 2012 for $27.5K
    Trade value was $23,750
Trade had dented rear bumper and dent in roof so I was amazed at tradein value after 5+ years of New England winters

That's pretty good really. Just picked mine up yesterday for $39k, same config except no roof rack, but with Toytec lift and tires - which I'd say is a reasonable $3k difference.
