Not glass, I meant if you ever use it on paint. You can just use it and wipe it off on glass.

Yeah report back. I'm very nervous to attempt to use any re-usable clay bar replacement products. Worried they won't get clean and I'll mar my paint lol

    Could you post pictures?

It all depends on the level of damage to the clear coat. You can do wet sanding, compounding, heavy cutting and polishing to knock down a lot of damage, but you just need to make sure after you do all that you still have a decent amount of clear coat remaining.

What color is your truck and what year is it (ie how old is the original paint lol)

Wash the truck and window very well. Do your best to get all bug guts off the window by hand. Then clay the window. You can use clay intended for paint or buy special clay made specifically for glass, doesn't matter. Get the windshield really clean. The clay should take up most of the contaminants. If it doesn't you can get polishing pads and compounds made for glass if you need something with a little umph to deep clean the surface.

I think it's good to clay all your glass at least twice a year. Helps keep harmful contaminants out of the glass to prevent any etching and staining. It also helps your windshield wipers function better :)

This weekend I am going to polish a windshield for the first time using a microfiber polishing pad and some paint polish. I will let you know how that goes.

Yea I just bought some clay this week, I'll give that a shot since I'll already have it out for the paint.

My mother had something black splattered all over her windshield. It honestly looked like thin paint. Not sure what it was and it seemed to be confined to the windshield, I couldn't find any splatter on the paint. It wouldn't come off unless I wanted to scrub each blotch out with my fingernail.

    Did this yesterday:
    1. Washed the windsheild well with glass cleaner
    2. Clayed
    3. Buffed the glass using Chemical Guys 5.5'' Microfiber Pad with Orange Cutting pad underneath and Chemical Guys V38 Polish (finishing polish). Used a Porter Cable 7424xp at speed setting 5.
    4. Re-Cleaned the glass with glass cleaner.

Took everything away. Left a perfectly clean window, no water spots, no splatter. I did have to do 8 passes total to get everything off but it worked very well. Will do my Tacoma next.

I was initially nervous about polishing glass at all because I was terrified of any marring. This combo worked well.

IMG_1179.jpg Does anyone know if there is a specific way to get the blue off white letter tires?

Flip the tires around. IDK why people want the white lettering showing anyways. Especially not with bad ass Method wheels.

Could be that not everyone has the same tastes. If I had the money to buy new tires I would have the white lettering out.

You don't need to buy new ones. All you do is flip the tire around on the wheel.

Most tires are designed to chose if you want white lettering in or out.

I'm just teasing the guy. No need to make a big serious thread out of it.

I am looking into buying an random orbital polisher. I will only use this a few times a year on the tacoma and maybe a few of my dads cars. I don't wanna spend over 200 bucks . I see the kit from chemical guys has a torx brand. I also know griots has one at about the same price...then there is the 49.99 harbor freight one.......just looking for a few opinions

I got the Torx and for me it is just fine. Griots is better but the Torx is good for beginners.
