You really arent going to get much help on anything on a 20" rim here. Pretty much everyone runs either a 16 or 17 since almost all of us are more interested in the off-road side of things (ie tires with more sidewall for airing down and more aggressive treads)

Not enough sidewall with 20's and 35's?

    *EDIT*
If its not, let me know. Honestly I hadn't thought about that, I just think the wheel/tire ratio looks better with 20's.
Like I said , its not set in stone.

Are you going to be doing any serious offroading? If you're going to be doing anything more difficult than forest service roads, airing down really helps. Especially with rocks or snow. It's nearly impossible to air down a combination like 20s in 35s without risking a blown bead or damage to either the wheel or tire.

If your goals are more along the lines of a highway truck, 20s are fine. I just don't know of any regulars to this thread that run a combination like that.

Prob why I cant find any info...

Makes sense. Just trying to think outside the box a little and come up with something that works that I like.

I was going to ask you for your thoughts on 18's but at that point I might as well just do 17's.

35's for a 16 or 17 are cheaper as well. The Roost is good looking wheel.

Your options open up incredibly once you start looking at 16s and 17s. There's just more styles brands and sizes for both wheels and tires. In the end though it's all about your intended destination. If you're not going to hit deep snow you don't need to be able to air down to single digits. If you're not going to do any crawling you probably don't need to be able to go to 12psi. And if gravel roads are all you'll ever see, the 20s would definitely work.

I like them. They are newish and not many ppl running them yet, so I'll take a stab at them.

That makes sense. I'm trying to "build" a true multi use rig. Of course it will be on pavement most it's life, but definitely would would like to do some more mild trails and snow wheeling would be a definite possibility. Much to think about, thanks for the input. Back to the drawing board

Took a quick overnight trip to Mt Baker area to test out some gear. Planned campsite was already occupied so made do with an alternate.

First time having the dog in the RTT and it was a lot easier getting her in than out. Ended up having her walk out onto the rack then jump off and I caught her.
