Well that just changed my upcoming purchase in one post. I hate how they look. But function is key.

Let me rephrase that. I just don't think I do anything cool enough to justify a bumper anyways. But I do need limb protection on this rig. Gives the chainsaw and trimmers a rest. Haha.

You could just do what geekhouse did and not attach it to the front bumper.

That's the other direction I was thinking. At that point I'd do the hidden winch mount.

Had a buddy riding shotgun on a fishing trip this year. He just goes "really?".

Was like yeah bro. A-trac and touch up paint will get us there.

Would love some details on how you did the mounting from the hood side....

Just I installed my FJ rack today. For those wondering about the transition to CBI, I ordered on July 5th, and received it on September 12th. I did find I was missing a few mounting bolts and hardware for attaching the rack to the rear bracket. Hopefully they are quick to get them to me.

    Question for everyone....

Deflector with OR without the light bar cutout? I can't decide on whether to run the light on the roof rack or in the truck grill. I also don't want to add a whole lot of wind noise.

Depends if you will use it or not. I didn't get one at first then I decided to run a bar. Happy with my decision..

I drilled through the crossbar and mounted the brackets to that. Really simple since you lose a cross member going from no cutout to a cutout system. Tried and true for over 2 years now with no issues

Any one have enough hardware for 4 extra bars? So 16 Torx bolts, 16 washers, and 16 lock washers that they would sell me? The ones that come with the prinsu rack originally that are all black.

I mounted mine using the longer of the two mounts the bar comes with, and some carriage bolts. Can take pictures if you'd like.

I hate running bright overhead lights when I'm driving in fog, rain or snow, or on a dirt road with someone in front due to the haze and back scatter of light it causes - not to mention having the hood all lit up in front of my face - I moved and mounted my Cibie lights from my roof to in front of my hood due to this. It's much easier on the eyes and for wiring them!
