Wonder if I should just run pure e85 then. Doubt it will cut my NOX in half but hopefully my new cat can cover the rest.

I think he was ballparking what it would cost in labor and parts if someone was going to pay for it to be built outright. It's pretty amazing he built the whole thing. I'm pretty sure it cost more like $20-30k for him to build, if that.

But yeah, I probably won't be riding in one of those any time soon. :(

As I was doing vacuum leak checks today I started thinking as I discover the downpipe still has a little bit of a leak that I probably better take the downpipe off replace broken studs and reeled it that's when I can weld the bung for the wideband sensor. Then I can find out what's going on with the hesitation bogging

I was wondering if he might get a professional curtesy discount. Don't know what a few of those parts cost tbh. My budget is working on a 10% scale of this truck lol. :(

I had a hard time spending big money on a project truck just because the possibility of wadding it up. I'm sure he gets discounts, plus company tax write off.

For emissions, I found that a gallon or two of denatured alcohol (put into 1/8 of a tank of regular unleaded) works better than running a concentration of e85. Not sure if it's because of the additives in e85 or what.
Another tip is to fab up a quick-change cat... and make sure it's a 50 states legal one.
I have two identical lengths of exhaust... one with a 50 states legal cat (just for emissions passing) and one with a hollowed cat. All V-band for quick swapping.

    3" v-band?

My non NOX emissions are more than passing, failed NOX by a large margin even running 0 boost so I'm hoping it's simply an issue with my cheap cat. This is the replacement I bought: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/vpe-7029

Should I go with CARB legal and just send this thing back? I noticed OEM replacements for the stock cat are "premium load", which I gather is because some models do not have EGR and therefore place a higher degree of emissions control on the cat. Can anyone comment on this?

Edit: Yep this new cat won't cut it... Going to order this and probably run it indefinitely:

Added royal purple fuel injector cleaner to clean out things after that nasty fuel filter. AFRs are way high. Can't even safely boost. Is this normal?

Probably unrelated, just coicidental in timing.

Tune, vacuum hoses, or fueling. Do you have steady fuel pressure?

What if you, like J Stand, had your FPR go bad. That the clogged fuel filter was in effect protecting your OEM FPR? Then after changing the filter, the FPR could no longer handle the increased fuel pressure load.

Unless you have upgraded your FPR?

It's way too coincidental. Royal purple was for 15 - 20 gallon tanks. Put whole bottle in.

So what you are asserting is that immediately after pouring in the bottle, the AFR's went lean?
