The last car I had was a 2014 toyota corolla. My mom talked me into getting an auto...DUMBO. It had those paddles and the shifter and it was just trash. Nothing can replace your feet doing the work. If you drove your manual today with two pedals and the 1-6 gears it's just not the same.

I quickly sold that car off market and got myself this truck. I used to never wash that car and just kept it clean on the inside. I wash this truck every week.

I tried driving my mom's bmw several years ago with the faux manual mode and accidentally slammed on the brake out of habit of looking for a clutch. I'm not allowed to drive it unless it's on auto now lol.

Not on the 1500 though, you have to get the 2500+ to get the manual, right?

my last car was a VW R32 with the DSG gearbox. i had that thing tweaked & tuned, about $20k in modifications and it could hold a line going around M3's all day long.

the Tacoma is a thousand times more fun in just about every way, just can't take turns quite as fast.

But, it's nice to have that rear wheel drive. I can crank out the best desert donuts!

My last truck was a Tacoma Manual...before that it was a Tacoma Manual....before that it was a Toyota Pick up with a manual...before that it was a 1970 Chevy with a manual (which i still own). I do own an auto in my 2005 Duramax diesel :anonymous:.

Does anyone think the clunking can pose a potential reliability issue for the 6MT trucks.

My truck has been shifting beautifully lately. The throw out bearing has been chirping like a bastard though.

Thankfully that's been updated for the 3rd gens. Time will tell if it's still an issue...

You wont regret getting the Manual, very easy and smooth shifting.

I purchased a trd sport manual that appeared at the local dealership about a month ago. Ive always owned manuals, but a short test drive convinced me to buy there and then(after a lot of research also...). Different gearing to my 2nd gen 5spd, but easy to get used to and oh so smooth. Couldn't recommend the new 6spd more highly.

The 3rd gen actually has a completely different transmission than what was in the 2nd gen. The previous tranny had an issue with the throw out bearing making noise.

I'm familiar with the issue. I don't have it yet, but I've read a lot about it on here.

I wonder if I can drop a 3rd gen transmission into my truck if it starts chirping
